Hotel New York New York

The New York New York is in the southern part of the Strip, in between the hotels Excalibur and Monte Carlo. just opposite it, you won't be able to miss the impressive MGM Grand casino, all clad in green. Fortunately, you are only a few minutes away from the airport.

The New York New York is the only hotel that doesn't have a buffet. It is also one of the few not to have a chapel for weddings.

Architecturally and aesthetically, the New York New York hotel (1997) is one of the nicest looking hotels on the Strip. When you have a close look at these buildings, you really get the impression of being in New York. This aspect is found in every detail, even the Manhattan ferry in front of the hotel. Those in search of a thrill will have their eyes on the roller-coaster, but for the hotel guests, it can prove to be a bit of a nuisance as it only stops at midnight, but then again it's difficult to sleep in Vegas before the early hours of the morning. Remember, you're there to make the most of it!The hotel also has a swimming-pool and a spa, albeit a rather small one. The latter was renovated in 2008 and it offers massages, manicures and pedicure treatments. There are also Turkish baths, a sauna and two jacuzzis. You can always use the hotel gym to burn off the many hamburgers you would undoubtedly have eaten. Like all the other hotels, the New York New York puts on all sorts of shows.After attending one of these, you can head to the Rock Vegas nightclub, which opened in 2008. There is also a bar, aptly named For 24, which has a choice of 24 beers and stays open 24/7. Otherwise, there is the Irish pub or the bars on Time Square.The hotel also has its own casino, which was totally renovated in January 2009.

There are a little more than 2,000 rooms spread over the various towers of the hotel. These buildings each have their own lift, but it can become quite long and complicated to find your own room. You must be on the ball and check that you know in which building your room is. The rooms are decorated in a modern style, but still show some elements of bad taste and old-fashioned furniture. Every room has a television, a phone, a safe, a radio, an iPod dock and, of course, air-conditioning. There is WiFi Internet access throughout the hotel. As for the bathrooms, they have either a bathtub or a shower, a hair-dryer, and hospitality products. Most of the rooms have a modern interior, with steel, metal and black tiling. Be aware that some of the rooms are rather small.

As is the case in New York, you will find something to eat at all hours of the day or night, and, just like in the Big Apple, cuisine from all four corners of the world can be found: Chinese, Italian, burgers, steakhouse, Irish with live music, Mexican, pizzas, hot dogs... the choice is yours. There is even a food court with various styles of cooking that is decorated to look like a New York street, complete with smoke coming out of a manhole cover. The New York New York is, however, the only hotel that does not have a buffet.
