RestBearing the name of a nearby Greco-Roman amphiteatre, the Curium Palace is a small peaceful hotel despite its downtown location. Nice and comfortable, the hotel is proud of its age and colonial style. A good destination with great refinement.
Located in the heart of Limassol, the hotel is a little more than 1 mile from the old downtown. Far from the touristic centre, the Curium Palace is close to the archeological museum and the large public garden of Limassol. About 40 miles away from Larnaca international airport, about 45 minutes for transfers.
The hotel is 985 feet from the beach. On the beach you can play different water sports thanks to the clubs that are there. If you want to get to the beach, you have to cross over a few streets, including a busy 4-lane highway along the bay, then follow the seafront.
The Curium Palace does not offer any animation and has no special facilities for kids. Business clients will specially enjoy the hotel. Other loyal guests are individuals. The staff speak many languages: English, French, Spanish, Yugoslavian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish. The reception is open 24 hours a day.
Built in 1955, the Curium Palace can boast about being the oldest hotel in Limassol. Fully renovated in 2003, the 3-level building has remained the same since. It is open all year round and, once you go inside the building you will see the lovely reception, relatively spacious compared to the rest of the hotel. The Curium combines classical style with numerous old items and touches of contemporary style. Behind the jasmine and the boungavilleas, the columned veranda is a great place to lounge and enjoy good moments. Facing it, the small, asymmetric pool is next to the jacuzzi. Here in a nook, you can find a paddling pool for children. Verdure, palm trees, sunshades and beach chairs, decorate the space surrounded by the buildings of the city. The conference centre and the ball room serve for seminars and weddings organised at the hotel. In addition: fitness room, sauna and massages.
The 63 large, air-conditioned rooms can accommodate up to 120 people. The hotel offers 55 double, 3 single rooms, 3 executive suites, 2 junior suites. As you go to your rooms, you will discover beautiful corridors with red gold-motif carpet. You will notice that even the smallest details are taken care of. The pleasant rooms, offering a view of the pool and/or the city, are equipped with a TV (10 channels), a direct telephone line, a free safe box, a filled mini-bar, a radio and Internet access. The white bathrooms have welcome products, a hair-dryer and a bathtub /shower.
The elegant "Scarlet Restaurant'' serves French cuisine prepared with fresh, local ingredients. The restaurant opens toward the outside from May to October. In addition to this, there is a lounge restaurant and a bar/snack by the pool. Two or three times per week, the hotel offers for its guests an international buffet. The real pleasures of foods are discovered from 12:30 PM to 3 PM in the afternoon and from 7:30 PM to 11 PM in the evening. 3 or 4 times per year, the menus change. A little advantage: homemade jams and breads are served for breakfast from 7 AM to 10 AM. Inside the ''Clock Bar'' you will find an eclectic mix of leather, wood, copper and a fireplace of marble. The ''Jasmine Cafe'' , under colonial archways offers menus and chocolate specialities all day.
