Hotel Kanika Elias Beach

On the seashore, 5 miles away from Limassol and 40 miles from Larnaca airport (about a one hour drive).

The hotel is located outside the hotelier area of Limassol, 5 miles away from the city centre. It is recommended for sporting and relaxation vacations for couples or families. Note that the Elias Beach offers a free shuttle to the Country Club located 4 miles away in the middle of nature. On this property planted with carobs, you can go horseback riding, do archery or shoot clay pigeons (extra charge).

Renovated in 2000, the Elias Beach is housed in a painted concrete building with no traditional charm (like almost all the hotels in Cyprus). Its lobby, lit up by a large bay window and decorated with green plants is fitted out with small lounges. Contemporary ambience with a touch of style: on the walls are hung paintings of the Cypriot painter Corbig. Outside, two pools placed side by side offer a swimming length of 52 to 65 feet, and are surrounded by a sundeck where you can find a crowded row of teak deckchairs under canvas sunshades. Between the pools and the beach, several lawns planted with palm trees and trees of the island offer a nice relaxing environment. Good to know for winter: the hotel has a covered swimming pool with a jacuzzi. Of a surface of 323 square feet, it is open all year round.

There are 175 rooms altogether, including 52 suites able to accommodate up to 4 people. Half of the rooms overlook the sea: the other half offers a view of the back (hills and habitation neighbourhood). Of a medium size (210 square feet), the rooms are fitted out with wooden caned furniture. On the walls, you can see lots of pictures representing antique scenes (ruins and statues). The amenities include a balcony with armchairs and a plastic table, air-conditioning, satellite TV, telephone, a mini bar and a bathroom with hair-dryer, a bathtub and a foam soap dispenser.

The main restaurant serves meals buffet-style in a room opening towards the pool and the gardens, extended by a terrace under a pergola. Every evening, the theme offered is different. You can eat Cypriot foods, Italian or Mexican food, among others. In the morning, the buffet has, besides different cold courses (cereals, pastries, cheese, cooked meats), fried eggs and omelettes on request. For lunch, continental buffet with salads, hot courses (meat, fish, pasta and vegetables ) and desserts. The hotel also has two à la carte restaurants - one in extension of the main restaurant, the other one on the verge of the sea.

The grey sandy beach is surrounded on one side by a marina and on the other side by a wooden dock exteding the restaurant overlooking the sea. It is not very wide: 492 feet x 160 feet. A few plastic deckchairs are installed here, due to the limited space. You had better relax on the lawns that overlook it and swim in the sea. The diffrence in height in the water is normal, the sky-blue colour is very nice.
