Hotel Antiq Palace and Spa

On a quiet pedestrianised street in the historic centre of town, Antiq Palace is surrounded by the shops, galleries and restaurants of Ljubljana. The airport is about a 30 minute drive away.

This former noble residence is a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe; Guests receive a welcome drink upon arrival. Tea and coffee is also available all day long, free of charge, in the lobby.

Due to the absence of a restaurant (breakfast room only), there is no 'Food and Drink' score. The hotel offers a B&B meal plan only.

Inside a beautiful, 3-storey 16th century heritage building, the 4-star Antiq Palace was last renovated in November 2010. A lot of care has been taken when decorating the common areas of the hotel; such as the lobby (where a magnificent crystal chandelier commands attention), the various lounge areas (cosy and dimly lit) or the cobblestone courtyards. The latter is one of our favourite aspects of the Antiq Palace. There are two courtyards, both arranged with wrought iron outdoor furniture, perfect for sipping an aperitif under the palm trees or beside the mandarin trees. The health and wellbeing area consists of a Jacuzzi and saunas (infra-red, Finnish and Turkish) (all are free but need to be reserved in advance) which are privatised for those guests who use them. The adjacent gym overlooks one of the inner courtyards and is filled with state of the art Technogym equipment. Meanwhile, the small but chic spa is located adjacent to the lobby and is decorated in beautiful pearly gold tiles. Consisting of a handful of treatment rooms, spa therapists use luxurious La Prairie products.

There are 13 spacious rooms decorated in a classical style, each over 100m², clean and bright. The residential suites feature a master bedroom, living room, fully equipped kitchen, dining area and bathroom. With high ceilings, frescoes and antique furnishings, the rooms certainly have a grand quality to them. However, while we'll always prefer spacious rooms over cramped ones, with rooms at well over 100m², is there such a thing as too much space for one couple...? All rooms are equipped with flat screen televisions and DVD players. Games consoles are also available upon request.

There is no restaurant on-site however there is a small breakfast room and coffee bar on the hotel's ground floor. A continental breakfast is served between 7:00am and 10:00am. Room service at breakfast time is offered free of charge.
