Hotel Central

On a main road that leads to the famous Triple Bridge, Central Hotel is a five minute walk from this famous meeting point in Ljubljana. The airport is about a 30 minute drive away.

Due to the absence of a restaurant at Central Hotel (breakfast room only), there is no 'Food and Drink' score. The hotel offers a B&B meal plan only.
Central Hotel belongs to the Union group of hotels. Guests of Central Hotel may use the leisure facilities (indoor pool, fitness room, etc) at Union Business Hotel, a five minute walk away.

Central Hotel is a child of the 1970s and it shows. Although dated and in need of a little makeover, the hotel is perfectly acceptable for a short city break stay. However we can't help but think that its location is its biggest advantage. The hotel is located on a street corner, its lobby small with floor to ceiling windows to allow views of city life on the other side. Just off the lobby also with its own entrance is Franky's Bar with cherry red furnishings and a small terrace on the pavement. The 7-storey hotel contains 74 rooms and the only other on-site leisure facility is the sauna. For the indoor swimming pool, fitness room and massage, sister property the Grand Union Hotel Business is a five minute walk away.

The 74 rooms are divided into singles, doubles and suites. While the rooms are of an average size, all of them feature a flat screen television and free internet. Obviously those rooms on the upper floors boast better views of the city and some even look towards the castle. Single rooms on the 5th floor share a long balcony but interestingly, no other floors feature balcony access. The rooms are clean, comfortable and very simply furnished in a classic style featuring earthy green and neutral tones.

While Central Hotel does not have a restaurant there is a large breakfast room which serves a continental breakfast every morning. While the décor is far from modern and cutting edge there is a good variety of hot and cold breakfast items. Meanwhile, the ground floor bar is open until 11:00pm.
