Hotel Holiday Resort Lombok

On the West side of Lombok island, the Holiday Resort Lombok is located 3 mi from Senggigi and 13 mi from Mataram airport (30 minutes).

Avoid, if possible, mountain-side rooms, so that you don't have to cross the road to get to the beach, the restaurant, etc.

Built in 1995, the resort is structured around the main building and its beautiful and spacious lobby at the top of a flight of stairs, with its marbled floor, stone pillars and alang-alang thatched roof. Another central flight of stairs leads to the nicely designed communal areas with the lagoon swimming pool. Palm trees are scattered everywhere in the big lawned park. Few activities are available in this vast resort - only tennis, scuba diving and horse-riding (two horses in the stable). A little spa opens out to the sea through patio doors. Also: 3 bars.

The Holiday Resort Lombok has a total of 104 rooms, each with a balcony and a view of the gardens. Each chalet consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 of which are upstairs. Of local inspiration, the decoration is both simple and pleasing. Some rooms are located on the mountainside, which means that it is necessary to cross the busy road to get to the hotel's main communal areas and the beach. 30 rooms are adapted for families. Some 10-unit buildings consist of 39 sea-view rooms. 14 others are located close to the beach. All categories have the same facilities: a king-size bed, a rattan armchair, a large safe, a fridge with tea and coffee facilities, a TV (10 channels), a full-length mirror and individual air-conditioning. What a shame that the flooring should be made of industrial tiles. Functional but unattractive, the bathrooms, whether open-air or not, have a bath tub, a hair-dryer, bathrobes (synthetic fibre), slippers and soap. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

Next to the reception, the guests have access to the restaurant which is on two floors. It has a capacity of 120 people. Decorated in the local style, you can take your meal in this cosy place, while admiring the view of the sea and the park. The varied menu has a minimum of 19 European, Asian and vegetarian main courses. Chef's special: Indonesian-style lamb curry.

The Holiday Resort Lombok overlooks a 2 mi long beach, unspoilt and unsupervised Large rollers come and break on the fine, grey and clean sand. This very quiet place, with few visitors, is quite windy. There are no deck-chairs or parasols on the very steep beach, you will have to get one from the park. Beware, flat rocks show on the surface of the clear waters close to the shore. Beach sandals are strongly recommended. You will not find a water sports club here, but it is possible to go scuba diving.
