Hotel Sol Elite Antillas Barbados

?n central Magalluf, a pleasant summer resort, but very busy, 6 miles east from Palma and 9 miles from the airport, about half hour driving to get to the hotel.

The Antillas and the Barbados are in reality two different buildings, brought together in a single complex. The first is a little quieter and more luxurious with its covered pool, jacuzzi and fitness centre. The second offers family ambiance. The ''adventure park'' located behind the pool of the Barbados is equipped with lots of games for children, a small climbing wall and trampolines.

You might want to take advantage of the rooms located on the upper floors because of the view.

The two establishments are divided into two large buildings of 12 floors each and house a total of 757 rooms. It has outsized hallways and multiple lounges. The modern complex offers a digital screen closed-circuit system to watch programs of animation offered by a team of 13 people ( in the French speaking part). The three wonderful pools, with convoluted shapes, overlook the sea. As far as sports and relaxation, everything is available: tennis, ping-pong, volleyball, fitness lounge, jacuzzi... It is difficult though, to get a good place during the high season. The childfrens' clubs, including a baby-club, are an undeniable advantage for families.

Comfortable and nicely furnished, the rooms are impeccable but not extraordinary. Here you will have TV, direct international telephone line, central air-conditioning, and paying safe, a mini-bar full of bottles of water. The bathrooms are clean and modern. All have a very pleasant balcony with calm environment. Some of them (specially at the Barbados) overlook the sea.

The two huge dining-rooms look alike with their good taste, decor and their large buffets. The cuisine, international style, is generous and good quality, with grills, green vegetables and vegetarian dishes. The personnel deals with serving the wine. The restaurant serve all three meals, there are theme parties (Mexican, Majorcans, Asian) every night. Clearer and equipped with a patio overlooking the sea, the Barbados dining area is distinctly more pleasant. For dinner, appropriate attire is required.

A large with white sand, clear water and bordered by trees, the Megalluf beach, is pretty nice. It is very noisy because of numerous hotels, bars and restaurans and very crowded in high season. Lovers of silence will definitely be frustrated here! The hotel doesn't offer any special equipment, but it is possible to rent beach chairs or sunshades and you can join in different sportive activities.
