Hotel Carolina Park

The hotel is located on a gentle slope of the Font Sa Cala bay, a summer resort located at about 3 miles from Cala Ratjada downtown, and 9 miles from the city of Manacor, well known for its pearl factory. The airport of Palma is located at 46.5 miles away. It takes about one hour driving to get here by car.

The hotel is mainly used by a French speaking clientele - a team of 9 animators offer different games, competitions and activities during the day as well as shows in the evenings.
The personnel are friendly and the ambiance is the same at the Carolina Park, which  adopts the ''all inclusive'' formula.
Otherwise, the comfort is not always as expected. The hotel was expanded in 2004, the new space offers sport facilities and a stage for shows.

The biggest issue of the hotel. Despite its large area (215 to more than 430 feet²), the 210 apartments (including 70 studios) offer only Spartan comfort for 1 to 4 people. The decorations is almost non-existent, except for one or two paintings on the pastel walls and the pale yellowish curtains don't really make the grey carpet on the floor any brighter. Air-conditioning is provided in only 60 rooms located on the road side... it is also pretty difficult to open the windows. All have a small TV, direct international telephone line, rentable safe, a kitchen corner with two hot plates, a refrigerator and tableware closets. If you prefer the apartments that offer a view of the sea, there are about thirty, starting with number 3228, and are quieter. Most of the other ones are located around the pool and the animations.

Built in 1988 and renovated in 2004, the Carolina Park has a main building, shapped like a ''U'' and a small 2 level bungalows. They offer 210 apartments and studios distributed in the gardens and the surrounding pine wood. The pool has beach chairs and showers, and is located close to the outdoor patio of the hotel restaurant, protected by barrel vaults, right behind the huge reception hall. It would be really nice, with the fountain and the flowers around, if the surroundings weren't spoiled by a concrete floor painted green... The mini-club is located on the large animation patio, overlooked by a large stage, and where you will also find sport facilities: beach volleyball, petanque, mini-golf, multi-route (tennis, foot, basketball, handball), ping-pong in the middle of the pines.

The restaurant serves all three meals and it has a large dining room, although a little dark. The extension-veranda is also very nice due to the large glassed-in areas that overlook the pool. The buffets are located between the two parts. The cuisine, local and international, is very good and the choice of dishes is more than enough. There are also Mallorcan evenings twice a week. For lunch, you can also go at the snack-bar located near the pool, a few steps away.

The hotel is in a nice bay surrounded by rocks and pines, shaped like a creek, with turquoise waters. The sand is fine and white. It is located one hundred feet below from the hotel. You will get here through small pathways. The place might become pretty limited in high touristic season, but the sandy area doesn't get too crowded, fortunately. You can also participate in nautical activities like floats, pedalos, sailing...
