A hotel ideally located on the verge of the sea, that recomposes the charm of the traditional Andalousian villages. Its comfort and facilities are planned so as to make you spend good family holidays.
The hotel is located on the verge of the sea, between Fuengirola (10 miles) and Marbella (5 miles). It is located 27 miles from the airport of Malaga. Count between a 30 to 40 minutes drive to get to the hotel.
In high season, the hotel uses a small animation team that proposes games during the day and thematic evenings (quiz games, music, disco, theatre or casino).
The Marbella Playa is a real small Andalousian village, made of a central building of 2 levels, small local-style houses and even a small charming church. The reception area is located in a high ceiling space, very pleasant with its old cart and its Andalousian house. From here, an alley goes down to the main building hosting the restaurant, a large bar, a games room and a small library. At the back of the bar, an area has specially been decorated for shows. The outdoors areas are also groomed, even out of the ordinary like the church's square decorated with a serial of garden dwarfs. Walkaways bordered by massifs and reflectors lead to the rooms. The pool area is located on the edge of the beach. it is peaceful and the surroundings are pleasant. Here you can find a large pool of 4,300 square feet, a jacuzzi, showers, a playground and a pool for kids (430 square feet) equipped with water slides. The numerous deckchairs are stacked at the shade of a palm grove. The pool bar is prolonged by a very large terrace in the shade of a pergola.
The 330 bungalows' rooms are spacious and decorated very simply with white wooden furniture. As for the arrangement, there are two wardrobes, very practical and functional. All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with a fan, satellite TV, a phone with a direct line, a safe (paying) and a filled mini-bar (drinks and appetizers). Rather large, the bathrooms offer two wahsbasins embedded in a granite table, a bathtub, a bidet, a toilet and a hair dryer. There are 57 more rooms in the main building.
The restaurant of the hotel is located in the main building. This is a very large bright dining room, fitted out with picture windows offering a beautiful view of the sea and of the small houses around. The ceilling fans and the rattan armchairs give it a very colonial ambience. The three meals are served buffet-style offering a good choice of dishes but a cuisine not really original. Since the dining-room is very large, you sometimes have to walk long distances to go and get youself something to eat. The setting of the dishes is quite badly organised. A grill area will allow you to eat at request eggs and bacon for breakfast and meat or fish for the other meals. From 12.00pm to 4.00pm, you can also have a snack at the pool bar (salads, hamburgers, scrambled eggs, sandwiches...).
The public beach that faces the hotel is quite narrow. Because of this, it is quickly packed out in summer. The surroundings are pretty pleasant and quiet, despite the fact that Marbella is in the background. The sand is fine and black but it is cleaner than anywhere else on the coast. The water is clear. Like everywhere else on the Costa del Sol, the beach is quite windswept. As for the amenities, you can find hay sunshades, deckchairs and matresses (paying). Pedalo is the only nautical sport that you can practice here. For all the others, you should go 0.5 miles away from here. The beach is supervised in high season.
