Hotel Les Jardins de la Médina

The Les Jardins de la Medina riad is located in the heart of the Medina, in the Kasbah district, near the Palais Royal, near the Saadian Tombs and a few minutes walk from Jemaa El Fna square.

The hotel is excellent for individual guests or couples who are in search of a peaceful and authentic place to stay, and with personalised service. However, children are welcome. They have games and a wide choice of DVDs (40), offered in the lounge on a huge screen. Les Jardins de la Medina is the only riad in Marrakesh with a lift. It also has a supervised, underground car park used for free.

The transformation from a riad into a charming hotel was completed in 2001. The hotel has maintained the traditional, 19th century architecture, dating back to when it was built. The decoration is refined, light and warm. In the garden, thousands of birds and doves sing among the bicentenary palm trees, olive trees, orange trees and jacaranda. Some hammocks are installed. A fairly large pool is heated off peak season (from September 15 to May 15). Deck chairs and towels are available for free. A fitness area, located on the first floor, overlooks the garden. A traditional hammam offers peace and total pleasure. A beauty centre proposes relaxing and invigorating Californian massages. On the roofs of the riad, a terrace, with a small quiet corner, allows you to bask in the su in complete serenity.

13 "comfort" rooms, 18 "superior" and 6 "privilege" (suites) ... 37 spacious rooms with virbant colours, each decorated differently but with the same elegance, in the purest tradition of Moroccan crafts. Some rose petals are scattered on the bed and in the bathroom, where a full range of high-quality welcome products are available. Some rooms can accommodate 3 adults. Some "superior" and "privilege" rooms, can accommodate two adults and two children. Some have a fireplace and a private terrace. The bathrooms are equipped with a bathtub or a shower. The toilets are separate in some rooms. All have heating, individually controlled air conditioning and fan. The telephone allows direct international dialling and the television has a dozen satellite channels. Some DVD players have been installed in the "superior" and "privilege" rooms. Wifi connection will soon be installed in all of the rooms. All of the rooms also have an individual safe and a well-stocked minibar. A "comfort" room is adapted for guests of limited mobility. Room-service is available to customers 24 hours a day.

The gourmet restaurant, "Le Karintia", proposes Moroccan and international cuisine, specialising in Thai cuisine. The cuisine here is fine and delicious. And for a good reason: the French chef, Julien Pilati, has spent his entire career working in 2 * Michelin restaurants. The menu includes varied and refined dishes; just as the wine list. French, Moroccan and international wines are to be tasted. The restaurant is decorated nicely. Meals are served on the terrace, cooled by cooling sprayers in the summer. Every Wednesday evening there is a Moroccan party with traditional music and an oriental dancer. Every Monday, the director offers a cocktail on the terrace of the hotel and every Sunday, brunch is offered. A snack system operates daily from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., without forgetting the 24 hour room service. A bar and Moroccan lounges allow you to cool off and relax in a warm atmosphere, always under the delicate attention of the staff.
