Hotel Sofitel Marrakech

The Sofitel Marrakech is located at the gates of the old city, in the district of Hivernage, less than 10 minutes walk from the famous Djemaa el Fna square. For transfers to the airport, allow approximately 10 minutes by car.

The Sofitel has a fitness centre of 10763 ft² including a heated swimming pool, a pool for relaxation, Jacuzzi, hammam, gym (for free), beauty salon ... Sessions of sophrology and relaxation are offered. For those who want to enjoy comprehensive sports facilities, the Sofitel has set up a shuttle service with the Coralia Club, belonging to the same hotel group, located in the palm grove (see corresponding section).

Opened in June 2002, the Sofitel Marrakech is one of the latest high-end hotels of the Accor group. Nestled at the foot of the ramparts, in a park dotted with ponds and fountains, it consists of 6 buildings of an ochre colour, which fits in perfectly with the spirit of Marrakech. Indoors you will also immerse you into the oriental ambiance with the hotel's zelliges decorating the floor, its ceilings and carved wooden doors, while displaying very contemporary characteristics. In addition to the rooms, the hotel has provided extensive common areas encompassing several bars and restaurants, a library, conference rooms, a spa, a beauty salon ... As for the garden, which extends over 9 hectares, this includes many places of relaxation, especially around the beautiful swimming pool, occupying a central square. A playground is also accessible for childrenn, with white sand, water slide ... Note also that, from the reception, split into two to accommodate groups on one side and individuals on the other, the hotel displays a genuine desire of the hotel to offer personalised service.

The hotel's 347 rooms, including 61 suites, have all the modern amenities and comforts : individually controlled air conditioning (completely hidden in the false ceilings), direct telephone for international dialling, a radio, satellite television with 21 channels, a safe and a mini-bar. They also have a balcony or a terrace offering a pleasant view of the garden, the swimming pool and, in the majority of lodgings on the higher floors, of the Atlas Mountains. Modern and functional, the bathrooms are equipped with a hair dryer and separate toilets in some rooms. As for the decoration of the rooms, all in shades of burgundy and champagne, it offers a happy mixture of Moroccan and contemporary styles. Particularly spacious, the suites also benefit from a lounge, separated from the bedroom by a sliding wall, and a bathroom with Jacuzzi tub. Room service is availabe 24 hours a day. The hotel has around twenty communicating rooms.

Three restaurants are available to guests of the Sofitel, with 1 Michelin star. The main restaurant, "Le Palmier", invites you to take all meals in the style of a hearty buffet, including mainly Moroccan specialties. Half indoors and half outdoors, this large room especially has stands for "show cooking" where you can see dishes being prepared in front of your eyes. In front of "Le palmier", a small garden with multiple plants, where there are many cooks preparing their delicacies. As for the gourmet restaurant "L'Orangerie", located in a pleasant setting with a panoramic terrace opposite the mountains of the Atlas range, it proposes a tasty Mediterranean cuisine served "a la carte". Nearby there is a piano bar whose atmosphere is very hushed. Finally, "The Oasis" invites you to enjoy simple cuisine that is full of freshness, by the swimming pool.
