AnimationA club with a reduced number of rooms, the Lookea Tarisa offers a friendly setting for affordable Mauritian holidays. Which doesn't mean limited comfort or activities. On the contrary. Since the establishment is located close to Grand-Baie, you won't get bored here. This is a place recommended for a first stay in Mauritius.

In Mont-Choisy, on the northern side, 150 m away from the beach. The shopping centres and the restaurants of Grand-Baie are located 3 miles away. Expect 10 minutes by bus. The airport is 43 miles away. Depending on the traffic, you will spend between 1 hour and 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Managed by the tour-operator Look Voyages, the Tarisa has become a Lookea club since November 1st 2006.
The Lookea Tarisa offers the pleasures of a small spa that has massage programs ( including one with ylang-ylang oil ), body and face treatments. The products used are ayurvedic or Gatineau branded. Reasonable prices : expect around 25&euros; for a one-hour massage and around 14&euros;for a 30-minute face treatment.
The Tarisa is mainly recommended for couples or groups of friends. Indeed, even though there are family rooms and a small pool for kids, the hotel does not offer a mini club or a playground.
Open in 2002, the Tarisa looks like a 2-level building with red Creole roofs. Its lobby offers a sober but nice decoration, where you can notice African and Asian influences. A fast hallway leads you to the gardens and to the main restaurant. Lawns shaded by coconut trees and bougainville flowers. In the middle, you can find a main pool of 250 mē, that offers the advantage of a jacuzzi-area. A separate swimming pool for children. If you want to set up your deckchair, you can choose between the solarium-sundeck or the lawns. Canvas sunshades, mattresses and bath towels provided.
Of the 75 rooms of the hotel, 6 can accommodate up to 2 adults and 2 children ( 3 family rooms and 3 suites ). 12 rooms have a garden view in the back of the building ( more peaceful ) and the others overlook the swimming pool ( music in the evening ). Even though the oceanfront is not too far, you cannot see it because it is hidden by filao trees planted along the beach. The rooms are spacious ( 35 mē ) and furnished with rattan and white wood. The light yellow walls are decorated with very colourful painting reproductions. Balcony with iron garden lounge coated with plastic. The amenities include air-conditioning, telephone, satellite TV, a mini-bar and a tea/coffee kit. This service is free upon arrival and paying there after. The simple bathroom has a shower ( a bathtub in the suites ) and a hair dryer.
The main restaurant serves breakfast and dinner buffet style. The room, lengthwise, is open onto the outside and it offers lots of tables overlooking right on the swimming pool and the gardens. The show-cooking stand offers pancakes and omelettes in the morning and grillings or pastas in the evening. The other options for breakfast include fresh fruits, cheese, yoghurt, cereals, small breads and Viennese pastries. At noon, a la carte lunch around a salad, a sandwich or a dish of the day. In the evening, the buffet offers a culinary theme like Creole, Indian, Chinese or Italian. You can also have a dinner in an Indian a la carte restaurant, in a pleasant setting ( high back chairs and ceiling set with curtains). In the visible cuisine, great specialities are being cooked like nan, curry and tandoori.
The Tarisa offers a fitted out area on the public beach of Mont-Choisy. You can get access here by going out from the hotel's gardens then crossing the street. The beach is very narrow ( 30 m ) when the tide is low and inexisting when the tide is high. But it sinks into a turquoise lagoon. The water sports centre of the hotel offers different activities. Non-motorised sports are included ; motorised sports and diving are extra. Useful information : Mont-Choisy beach is one of the very appreciated beaches by Mauritians that come here during the weekends to do picnics under the filao trees. When the Tamil Cavadee holiday approaches ( December- January ), you can also have the opportunity to see on the edge of the water the religious rituals practiced ( presents of flowers and fruits, tongue bite).
