The Round Hill is a quiet hotel, which combines elegance and refinement. The hotel is dedicated to couples as well as families as it has a mini-club.
This hotel review is a translation from the French by the agency Traductéo.
The Round Hill is located 30 minutes west of Montego Bay, and 1 hour 20 minutes from Negril.
A mini-club, for free, takes care of children aged 3 to 11 years (open from 10 AM to 5 PM) and there is a baby-sitting service. In high season, twice a week, a thematic buffet is organised offering pleasant music by a local orchestra.
Even if the reception of the Round Hill overlooks directly onto the sea, the group of buildings where the rooms are located are not very aesthetically pleasing. However, you can not ignore the beauty of the spa building, a former mansion, a little distant from the main part of the hotel. There is a magnificent view of the sea from any place in the hotel and the paved walkways are lined with pebbles. It is accessed along a promenade from which the sea is always visible. It offers: massages, reflexology, aromatherapy. The hotel has a swimming pool bordered by palm trees and there is also a pool for children, 3 bars, including a splendid piano bar decorated by Ralph Lauren, a photo gallery with pictures of prominent personalities of the 1950s, a nice television room with a large screen (150 channels with satellite), 3 shops, a fitness room, a hairdresser and a beauty parlour. You can play tennis, go windsurfing and enjoy tours in a glass bottom boat. And enjoy also: water skiing, scuba diving. Nearby: horseback riding, a free shuttle to the golf course of Tryall every 10 minutes.
The Round Hill has 130 rooms organised into three categories. 26 luxurious villas are situated throughout the grounds and 36 rooms with magnificent sea view (485 feet²) are housed in 2-storey buildings, although not very harmoniously. The superior rooms are located on the ground floor and the deluxe rooms on the first floor. The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated in black bamboo, with white walls and window shutters. They each have air conditioning, fans, direct dial telephone, ? safe, radio / CD, ? mini-bar, and television in some of the rooms. The bathrooms have white wood ceilings, a bathtub, a shower with small white stones, a double sink, a hairdryer, bathrobes. The villas with deluxe suites, accommodating 3 persons, have a bedroom, a living room (separate or partially separate), a garden and / or a veranda, a swimming pool shared with another villa. Many celebrities love to book the "grand luxe" villas.
The hotel has 3 restaurants, but the kitchen is always manned by the sale chefs. On the terrace facing the sea or in the dining room, you can order your meal from a menu, a la carte or choose buffet-style service (beach party, Jamaican evening party...). We have not had a chance to taste the cuisine... The hotel has 3 bars including the lovely piano bar decorated by Ralph Lauren, which has wooden tables and blue and white sofas, a cocktail bar, a bar beside the swimming pool...
The hotel private beach is nice, but the sand is coarse and there is algae in the water. It offers deckchairs and sunshades. To the right of the beach, there is a sun lounge on the rocks where you can relax in peace.
