International StandardThis hotel is recommended to those who come to Muscat to go on tour. It is well suited to discover the capital and its surroundings, rather than to have a seaside vacation.

In the district of Al-Khuwair, at the rear of the embassy area and 14 miles from Muscat's city centre. The airport is 8 miles away. Allow 15 minutes for the transfer.
The Muscat Holiday Inn is a stopover rather than a residence. Indeed, it is not on the seafront and a vehicle (bus or rental car) is necessary to go to the nearest beach, in Qorum (1 mile).
The public beach of Qorum is spacious and very quiet on weekdays during the day. It is 6 miles long and 328 feet wide. Given that no equipment is available there, you should take your precautions.
Being a city hotel, the Muscat Holiday Inn represents what is expected of an international standard hotel. Its lobby is small and simply furnished in imitation leather armchairs, as people just pass by there to pick up keys at the front desk. It should be therefore noted that there is a piano that a pianist regularily plays on in the evening. Outside, a 160 feet wide pool has been added. It will suit those who like to swim and less to those who expect a space surrounded by lawns and palm trees. The vegetation is reduced to a minimum (some flowerbeds) and the shade is provided by a canvas canopy under which plastic deckchairs are placed. Mattresses are provided but not towels. A small children's pool, a fitness room and a tennis court complete the installation.
All 123 rooms of the Muscat Holiday Inn overlook the city. They do not have balconies. They are relatively small (160 square feet) and furnished in a contemporary style dominated by varnished wood and sober printed fabrics. The floor is covered with carpet. Air conditioning has been installed along with a direct phone line for international calls, satellite TV and a minibar. There is no safe in rooms but you can rent one at the front desk. The bathrooms are equipped with a bath and a hair dryer.
The hotel's restaurant serves meals buffet-style. In the morning, an assortment of cereals, buns, cheese, fresh fruits is displayed, along with with scrambled eggs, hot sausages, and Eastern specialities such as humus, cucumber salad, and pita bread. At lunch and dinner, buffets are organized around various themes. Depending on the day, you can enjoy kebabs, grilled meat or seafood, pasta and pizzas, Asian recipes. The room, located on the first floor, is very bright. It overlooks the pool but does not have a terrace. Its contemporary style furniture is made of white lead wood.
