A member of the select Relais & Châteaux club, the Myconian Ambassador comes with outstanding credentials, the reasons for which rapidly become apparent as you discover the hotel's facilities. The service is of high quality and the setting is magnificent... Its elevated location affords an unobstructed view of the Aegean sea, but unfortunately this means it's not next to the beach. Don't worry though, the one at Platis Gialos is just a few steps away... The establishment is ideal for couples, but families are offered the warmest of welcomes as well.

    location

The Myconian Ambassador is only 200m from the beach of Platys Gialos, one of the most beautiful fine sandy beaches on the island and therefore one of the most popular. There is an atmosphere of the French Riviera in the summer, with the sunshades, bars, and restaurants that have moved in right up to the beach. Mykonos town centre is 2.5 mi away and the airport is less than 2 mi away. It takes no more than 15 minutes to reach either destination.

    to know

The Myconian Ambassador belongs to the Myconian Collection group, which also owns the Myconian Imperial, the Royal Myconian, and the Myconian K, other hotels on the island. Each hotel offers a good level of service, and in some there is a certain level of luxury.
There are some showers located next to the fitness centre, which guests with a later departure time and who have vacated their room will find very convenient.

    overview 7.5 /10

Although the establishment opened in 1983, it renews its facilities on a yearly basis during the winter, when the hotel closes for the season. The latest significant renovations were carried out in 2004. The hotel stands by a quiet road and its typically Greek architectural style blends in nicely with the surrounding landscape. Guests are welcomed in a small and comfortable lobby that bathes in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. It is beautiful decorated with orchids that are frequently changed. There are various lounge areas where you can check in and out and make your travel arrangements in comfortable surroundings.
This 3-storied building also includes a magnificent pool that is reached by lift. The rectangular swimming pool is not the most charming of places, but the sea view it affords is simply breathtaking. Deckchairs with cushy mattresses are available for you to place in the shade of thatched sunshades. But if it's total relaxation you're after, head for the hotel's spa. Located underground beneath the reception desk, it has been decorated with taste and the dimmed lighting will plunge you in the most zen and relaxed of atmospheres. There are 3 treatment rooms, as well as a thalassotherapy circuit.

    accommodation 8 /10

The hotel's 69 guest rooms are spread out among 4-storied buildings that boast a typically Cycladic architecture. There are various categories on offer but even the lowest is highly enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and each one is decorated differently and custom designed depending on the guest's nationality, according to the manager. Each has a furnished balcony or a terrace of varying sizes. As for the amenities, they give no cause for complaint: a flat screen TV, a mini bar, 24/7 room service, air conditioning... The bathrooms are quite decent and hospitality products are provided. The nuptial suite deserves a special mention for its terrace with a jacuzzi, its bathroom that opens onto the bedroom, and its elegant interior.

    food and drink 8.5 /10

The Aphrodite Restaurant offers local cuisine and Mediterranean dishes. If you enjoy good food, you'll never tire of the delicious local dishes on offer. In the morning, the restaurant offers a buffet breakfast but you may also order from a menu of hot dishes. The restaurant also serves dinner à la carte. The room is sufficiently spacious so the tables are nicely spread out and not too close to one another. With purple and beige tablecloths, they produce an elegant atmosphere. For those who prefer to eat outdoors, there is a small terrace where one can enjoy a meal while admiring the incredible view of the Aegean Sea. For lunch, guests go to the bar where a menu of light meals is available.

    beach

As mentioned above, the hotel is not a seaside establishment, but the Platys Gialos is not far, and it takes less than 5 minutes to get there if you take a shortcut. If you manage to see through the numerous sunshades, you will discover that Platys Gialos is a beautiful beach of fine sand. The sunshades are organised in rows on either side of the bay and don't leave much room for you to lay out your beach towel! Platys Gialos is one of the most crowded spots and popular bathing sites during high season, which is to be expected considering the crystal clear water! However, the area remains quiet enough, protected from the bustle of Mykonos downtown. Comfortable deckchairs and sunshades are available to hire by the day.
