Despite its colonial appearance, the Sarova Stanley is a hotel that provides a very high level of modern facilities. Due to its location in Nairobi city centre, it is possible to explore the town on foot from here. The staff are charming and very professional - you will not have to worry about a thing.

    location

The Sarova Stanley is located right in the city centre of Nairobi. It is only 11.25 mi from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. It usually takes around twenty minutes to reach the airport, depending on the traffic, which can get very heavy!

    to know

You will find all sorts of shops near the hotel. Certain embassies are located just behind the hotel, along with the Kenyatta International Conference Centre. It is undoubtedly due to its location that the Sarova Stanley attracts a business clientele.
It is worth noting that the hotel offers a tour of the hotel for its guests every day at 5pm. This will allow you to really soak up the hotel's atmosphere and its colonial past.

    overview 7.5 /10

The Sarova Stanley building is not a huge mass in the middle of Nairobi, which is all the better! The hotel has eight floors and is meant to be as discreet on the outside as it is on the inside. A charming gentleman, dressed in old-fashioned clothing, welcomes vehicles arriving at the hotel entrance. The entrance itself consists of a large revolving door and once you have entered to the right you will find the concierge service and to the left, the reception. This is built into the wall and consists of a dark brown wooden counter. Two small lounge areas facing the windows overlook the street outside and a large, round sofa is located in the centre of the room.
The hotel boasts a pleasant swimming pool, which is a great advantage when staying in the city centre. Here you can comfortably swim a few lengths before, should you feel up to it, heading to the fitness centre, which offers a wide range of sports equipment.

    accommodation 7 /10

The Stanley's 217 bedrooms are divided into no fewer than six different categories. The premier category, the deluxe room, is very spacious. The pleasantly decorated English-style bedrooms are laid with thick carpet. The floral bedspread matches the curtains, as well as the seats in the lounge area. The rooms feature dark wooden furniture. A small dressing table is located next to the wardrobe, which has both shelves and hanging space. As far as facilities are concerned, everything is there: air-conditioning, safe, television, direct line international telephone, hair-dryer, mini-bar, room service, etc. The bathroom is a little on the small side but functional, and has a bathtub and hospitality products.

    food and drink 6.5 /10

The hotel has three restaurants. The Thorn Tree Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, is located opposite the reception. It provides a pleasant setting and is decorated with old black and white photos of Nairobi. The restaurant serves breakfast in the form of a buffet. Lunch and dinner are à la carte with both international and Kenyan dishes: pizza, pastas, salads, meats, etc. The restaurant also has a covered terrace so that guests can enjoy eating outside. The Thai Chi, located on the 1st floor, serves Thai cuisine. This is a well known restaurant in the city. Finally, for a light lunch or a drink during the day, the Pool Deck Restaurant is located on the 5th floor of the hotel, close to the swimming pool. A pleasant setting where you can enjoy grilled food and salads. For those wishing to have a night-cap, The Exchange Bar is located on the 1st floor!
