Hotel The Westin

The Westin is located in Nusa Dua, about 9 mi from the airport, which is around 15 minutes away. It is just 5 minutes away from the Bali Golf & Country Club and a few minutes from "Bali Collection", Nusa Dua's stylish shopping centre (10 minutes along the beach).

The Westin is the largest venue for organising conventions thanks to its fifteen or so rooms, one of which can accommodate up to 2,500 people. A large activity programme awaits holiday-makers here, including kayaking, which is free of charge during entertainment hours. Parents and children alike will be enchanted with the Balinese dancing, the fruit sculptures, the yoga, etc. At 6pm every evening, a 15-minute showcase of Balinese culture is put on.

As soon as you enter the hotel the monumental reception, characteristic of a hotel which attracts a significant business clientele, will impress you through its sheer scale and its totally enclosed air-conditioned area. One lobby is set aside for individuals and another for groups. An express service attends to guests' every need as quickly as possible. Built in a U-shape in 1992, The Sheraton became The Westin in 2004, after a large renovation. It is impossible to get lost there! In the middle of the red tiled-roof buildings, this complex has a total of three swimming pools: a freshwater pool separated from the saltwater one by rocks and a small waterfall. There is also one for the children. Deckchairs and superb cocoon-shaped basket seats are spread around the main pool. All the activities offered are close to each other. Enthusiasts will be delighted with the sports room with its high ceiling, its picture windows and its screens for each machine. The orange and cream spa invites guests to relax in surroundings which are both simple and stylish. 5 beautiful daybeds are located near the beach for massage treatments. Manicures and pedicures are provided outdoors. The superb club for children between the ages of 4 and 12 is open between 9am and 5pm: inside you will find a classroom where workshops are held and bedrooms with bunk beds; outside there is a lawn with a barrier, a climbing wall, a trampoline, swings and slides in the sand. The arcades house beautiful boutiques.

The hotel has 350 bedrooms of 10 different categories. The 6 lifts mean that accessing the room is easy. Bedrooms are very functional and very light but may disappoint in terms of the minimalist and somewhat shabby decor. On the other hand, you will immediately notice the very comfortable cotton percale bedding and the large floor area, standard rooms approaching 38m². The pastel green lounge area and the light wooden flooring and furniture bring a touch of colour to the cream surroundings. Facilities include an alarm clock, a flat screen television with 35 channels, a free safe deposit box, individual air-conditioning, a mini-bar with tea and coffee-making facilities, an Internet connection and a direct-dial telephone. The long bathroom is decked out entirely in cream marble and has a bathtub, separate toilet, make-up mirror, hair-dryer, bathrobes, slippers and many Westin hospitality products. Room service is available 24 hours a day.

The various, spaced out restaurants are friendly and very stylish and are located in a row outdoors, except for the very pleasant Japanese which is open for dinner. Live music entertains diners every evening. Buffets are laid on in the garden, along with dancing shows, twice a week. In the restaurant where breakfast is served, the large capacity isn't at all oppressive as this area located alongside a pond is very pleasantly laid out and has an open kitchen. The same goes for the identically decorated pizzeria just next door. The main restaurant, which faces the beach and a large stage, can accommodate up to 130 guests and has a large ylang-ylang roof. Lunch and dinner are generously served à la carte here, with a very varied menu (wok dishes, Asian, Indonesian, international, etc.).

The Westin is located in a superb bay with a beautiful promenade along which the various hotels of the resort are aligned. Shaded by large trees planted in the golden sand, the busy 200 metre-long beach has many deckchairs and a few parasols, although they are very close together. As is the case in many places, a concentration of algae can be found in the clear waters just offshore. A wide variety of water sports are available to holiday-makers here. For motorised sports look no further than the Novotel Bénoa, a 5-minute drive away.
