The hotel is located at the top end of the Latin Quarter, with the buzz of the very lively Montparnasse district, home to the Tower of the same name, just a stone's throw away. Cinemas, restaurants, bars and music venues are abound here, and the capital's largest and most beautiful gardens and veritable lungs of the city, the Jardin du Luxembourg, is just a 5-minute walk away. The heart of the Latin Quarter is just 10 minutes further on from there, which will give you plenty of time to admire the beauty and tranquillity of this arrondissement, renowned for its history and architecture. The nearest metro stop is Vavin, and Port-Royal station also provides easy access on the RER (regional express train) to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport and the Parc des Expositions exhibition centre at Paris Nord-Villepinte.

Once inside, the decor in the pleasant lobby features a few modern touches, the recesses along the back wall providing somewhat more intimate surroundings in which to relax. The breakfast room is located on the basement level and is rather on the small side, so it's worth trying to avoid peak times if possible, or even opting for room service! You might also be interested to know that Simone de Beauvoir is believed to have stayed here, whilst just across the road stands one of the city's architectural oddities - an all-white ceramic building created by Henri Sauvage.

This small establishment has 15 guest rooms which come in two categories, namely Standard and Superior, the former being rather conventional in size. The rooms are decorated differently depending on the floor, and it has to be said that some of the colour schemes are somewhat questionable though this, of course, is a matter of taste. Some sections of the ancient stone walls have also been successfully preserved. There are practical storage units on-hand, and the surroundings are perfectly comfortable, whilst amenities include individual air-conditioning, a fully-stocked mini-bar, free Wi-Fi and bathtubs in all the bathrooms. Room service is also available until 10:30pm and safe deposit boxes can be found at reception.
