Close to St Lazare railway station, and therefore to the Opéra Garnier which can easily be reached on foot, the Hotel Opéra Deauville stands a mere 15-minute walk away from the district of the great Parisian department stores. It is located in a busy street where you will find all essential shops, which are open all day. As the neighbouring district is focused on business, your best bet come nightfall is to head to the lively nightlife of the nearby Pigalle district, renowned for its shady atmosphere and plethora of bars, restaurants, concert halls and cabaret venues including the Moulin Rouge, which certainly requires no introduction. The nearest underground station is St Lazare.
Once you have stepped into the building stuck between two of the numerous shops of the street, you will be greeted warmly by the staff who give the hotel a family atmosphere. The lobby is neat and decorated with a nautical theme, in reference to the town the hotel was named after: Deauville - blue and white stripes, a few navigation tools, etc. Why not spend some of your spare time in the little lounge, in front of the large flat screen television? The staff is very attentive.
The corridors leading up to the hotel's 30 guestrooms are narrow, much like the rest of the building. The guestrooms are rather spacious and some decorative elements such as the carpet have just been replaced. Anyway, there is enough room for a desk and chair without them making you feel claustrophobic. Sweet looking, some even have the extra charm of boasting a sloped ceiling. Brightly lit, their sound-proofing is very effective, which can't have been an easy task in this lively street. As for amenities, the air-conditioning is individual, the minibar is stocked up and comes with a welcome tray and tea and coffee-making facilities including a kettle. WiFi internet access is free of charge. The rooms are not equipped with a safe but you can have your valuables entrusted with the staff downstairs, for a fee. There is no room service either but you can have breakfast taken up to your room in the morning upon request. Higher floors have a better, unrestricted view of the surroundings. Only one 'single' guestroom is available and you might be able to find great value deals depending on the season.
