A modest and ideally located 2-star establishment whose amenities nevertheless disappoint, considering the price.

    location

The hotel is located in a picturesque little passageway right in the thick of the bustling pedestrian activity of Odéon in the Latin Quarter, the oldest part of Paris. There are many bars and restaurants, and a short stroll is all it takes to get an idea of what fine places are on offer, with plenty of restaurants within touching distance of the hotel. There is also such a proliferation of bookshops and cinemas, you won't know where to start. When it comes to sightseeing, the must-see Jardin de Luxembourg, the city's most beautiful garden, is very close by, as is the domed Panthéon, the final resting place of some of France's most distinguished figures. The closest underground station is Odéon.

    overview 6.25 /10

The hotel entrance is tiny, and once guests are past the reception counter, they are soon on their way upstairs to the guest rooms. The building design is a bit complex, but finding your way around the warren of corridors adds to the charm. The lounge area is on the first floor, and also serves as the breakfast room. Try to avoid the morning rush: as there is only a large table and a few chairs, the hotel staff will advise you to have the meal delivered to your room, which sounds like a great way to get around the problem. There is a car park nearby.

    accommodation 5.5 /10

The hotel has 29 rooms, all of which are in the Standard category except for one Superior room. We visited a room in the Standard category, which we found very small. Luckily, it overlooks the street and has two windows which enhance the feeling of space and allow light in. The subdued decor is limited to the heavy, solid wood furniture. There is a flat-screen television on the wall opposite the bed, but the amenities are a bit limited: there is no individual air-conditioning or mini-bar, and guests have to pay extra for Wi-Fi access. The bathrooms are equipped with either a shower or a bathtub. The prices charged here fully reflect the hotel's location
