Hotel Club Aquatour Aeolos Beach

Set along the coastal road of the village of Perama, the Marblue Aeolos Beach is located only 4 mi away from the city of Corfu, but also from the airport, as both are next to each other. Allow 10 minutes for trips one way or the other. However, if you go to the centre, beware of rush hour, when the streets are often jammed.

Water sports enthusiasts will be able to enjoy themselves on the hotel beach. However, they are provided by an outsider club, therefore you will have to pay for them.

The Mareblue Aeolos Beach was named after the wind deity. Hanging off the hillside, it has a beautiful view of the sea. On arrival, you will first see the very modern lobby with all the furniture to go with it. The reception is on the left hand side of the lobby, behind a small marble counter. The place is nonetheless quite dark despite the large bay windows. You will be attracted straight away by the light coming from the small patio in the centre of the room, as well as by the outdoor terrace of the bar. From here, the view of the sea is superb.
Two swimming pools are available at the hotel: one for families located just next to the main restaurant and a second one, an overflow pool for adults, at the top of the hill. The latter is much more pleasant than the other, a simple rectangular basin without any particular feature. However, whichever pool you choose, the sun lounge seems very small compared to the number of guests. You just can't imagine every guest fitting on it.

The 310 bedrooms are distributed across the hotel's 11 buildings. Request a room near the reception if you don't like walking or waiting for the shuttle. The rooms are accessible through a small road surrounded by a very beautiful garden. There is little decoration for the basic-standard bedroom. The wooden furniture projects no particular character either. The place is nonetheless clean and well maintained. The light colours of the fabrics make it a pleasant place to stay. As for the equipment, you will find a TV, a safe, a mini-bar with a tea and coffee making facilities, a direct line for international calls, a hair-dryer but no room service. A dressing gown is awaiting you on the bed, and some fresh flowers in the bathroom.

Three restaurants are available at the Mareblue Aeolos Beach. The main restaurant, just next to the first swimming pool, serves a buffet. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Several international dishes are served, as well as dishes on request. Taste the stuffed vine leaves, they are delicious! The hall is large, but becomes noisy once full. If you wish to have your lunch by the sea, head to the beach. There is a restaurant here offering light meals and snacks. Finally, for romantic dinners, the A La Carte Restaurant will welcome you, but book ahead.

As the hotel is on the hillside, you will have to walk down about 40 stairs to get to the beach. It is pleasant on the way down, but on the way back, it's a completely different story... For the guests' safety and avoid to that they walk across the street separating the two elements, the hotel had a smart idea... You will have to walk through a small tunnel to get to the beach. The deckchairs are available for free! Hotels where this kind of service is free are rare, as all of Corfu's beaches are public. This one, which consists of sand and pebbles in the water, lines the whole length of the bay and the deckchairs are set up in a long row. Swimming seems to be safe enough as there are hardly any waves and the water is not very deep.
