The Gran Melía Volcán Lanzarote Hotel stands next to the Marina Rubicón, approximately 900m from the centre of the village of Playa Blanca and Timanfaya National Park, where the island's volcanoes are to be found.

The clientele consists mainly of couples, as the amenities aren't adapted to children; moreover, this hotel's development policy is to first and foremost focus on adult guests. The establishment is therefore very quiet. It is a dream spot for relaxing or enjoying a romantic break. This hotel's "Royal" services consist of accommodating guests in one of the 48 rooms or in one of the 10 suites, much more luxurious and spacious than the standard rooms and available for an extra charge. The suites are located in an ideal area within the estate and are equipped with extra facilities and benefit from additional services: a butler service, a menu for an extensive choice of pillows and sheets, a mini hi-fi system fitted with an iPod docking station, etc. Guests accommodated in suites also have access to a private bar as well as a private pool and terrace.

You will find the reception very pleasant, and while you wait to check in, you can relax in one of the lounges decorated with wicker furniture and fine wrought iron and enjoy the view of the inner garden embellished with a small lake. Many floral compositions ornament this area and some soft music adds the final touch to the ambiance. Next to the reception, guests can enjoy a cocktail, or any other drink, at the bar. If you need to check your emails, you can use the internet area that is also located next to the reception. There are 3 swimming pools available, surrounded by impressive greenery that is particularly well trimmed. You will feel as though you are on holiday on a tropical island... During the day, several bars serve refreshments. All you need to do is choose a place where you want to relax: by the pool or in the shade! You will be able to exercise at the gym and play squash on the hotel's brand new court. Another one of the leisure amenities is the life-size chess board located in the huge garden. Bicycles are available for hire at the reception. Finally, if you feel like going on a little outing, the hotel staff will be happy to organise one for you. A mini-club is available for children aged 5 to 12. The team of monitors will care of their entertainment. A huge games room, with all of their favourite games. is also at their disposal.. With the children occupied, a spa is available for adults, out of the way of the hotel itself. It is equipped with a hammam, a thermal bath, and a jacuzzi and offers services such as hydrotherapy, massages, and bodycare, complemented by a beauty parlour and a hairdresser.

The hotel has a total of 255 rooms distributed in 20 houses typical of the area. Each one of them has an exceptional view of the Rubicón Marina and Fuerteventura Island. They all have a lounge furnished with a sofa, a coffee table and comfortable armchairs. The decor is purposely original and welcoming, thanks particularly to the blue tones used for the decoration and the wicker furniture as a reference to the sea. The blue floor tiling adds the final touch to the marine decor. You will be able to enjoy the delightful view from a small terrace. The bathrooms are rather spacious and luxurious with their bathrobes, double washbasin, bidet, magnifying mirror and hair dryer. As a whole, the guestrooms are very comfortable. The suites come with an extra lounge, which is separate from the bedroom. Their bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a huge hydromassage bathtub, and they boast an even more breathtaking view than in the standard rooms.

Three restaurants will satisfy the most demanding of palates: guests can enjoy quality exotic cuisine at the Japanese restaurant; the Italian restaurant serves delicious Mediterranean meals, and international haute-cuisine enthusiasts will favour the chefs' talent at the Gourmet.
