The Iberostar Bocayna Village is an absolute gem located in Lanzarote. An intimate and fairly luxurious 4 star hotel offering accommodation with an original twist, the guest rooms are actually housed in bungalows, so you will feel like you are in your own home in Lanzarote, with the added bonus of all the services a 4 star hotel has to offer.

    location

The Bocayna Village Hotel is found in an exceptional spot in Playa Blanca, a village in Lanzarote that is home to several luxury hotels. The Las Coloradas bay is quite enchanting. The hotel is also just 9 mi from Papagayo Natural Park, which is where you will find the most spectacular beaches on the island. The hotel is built on the hills above the village, affording it an impressive view of the bay and Fuerteventura.

    to know

The hotel's bungalows can accommodate up to 4 adults and 2 children. As they are so spacious, the apartments are an ideal solution for families. Each bungalow has its own terrace, and the 48 apartments form a little village that is closed off from the outside world and monitored, so children can amuse themselves in total safety.

    overview 8.5 /10

The refined, stylish nature of the hotel is evident as soon as you enter the reception, which actually feels more like a holiday home than a hotel in the traditional sense. Built in 2002 and fully renovated in 2007, the Bocayna Village is one of the most charming hotels on the island.

The reception, a large room with wicker and forged iron furniture, is to the left of the entrance. To the right of the reception counter is a spacious and welcoming hall, where you can take the weight off your feet. This space has a fairly original design, as the walls are made of volcanic stone. The red and blue fabrics covering the furniture in the hall create a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere. The professional and personalised welcome extended by the hotel employees gives an immediate impression of the quality of services on offer as a whole at the Bocayna.

If you need to wait a little while before checking in on arrival, you can always unwind in the bar next to the hall, sipping on a cocktail or two in its refined surroundings. This bar area is actually divided into two parts: the first includes the bar itself, while the second is a bit more isolated and very peaceful, laid out like a lounge and containing a bookshelf. It is a great place to head for when the heat outside gets to be too much. The whole complex is made up of numerous terraces and secluded outdoor lounge areas. The upper level has a large swimming pool and a jacuzzi, both of which are very pleasant places to spend time, largely thanks to their view of the Playa Blanca bay. The furniture consists of comfortable deckchairs and armchairs, and the peacefulness of the place is sure to impress: a genuine little paradise!

There is also a gym with cutting edge equipment, in case you feel like working out. Tennis players can also try out the hotel's brand new court. If all this activity leaves you in need of a massage, the hotel offers massage services twice a week or at the request of guests (reservations must be made at least one day in advance).

    accommodation 6.5 /10

The 48 apartments are spacious and very pleasant. The architect who designed the hotel wanted guests to feel very much at home during their holiday on the island, and there is no denying he has done a pretty good job. Each apartment has a small and fully equipped kitchen that opens onto the comfortable lounge, furnished with a sofa bed, a plasma screen television and a coffee table. A dining table separates the kitchen from the lounge, which extends out onto a large terrace where you can stretch out on a deckchair and make the most of the sunshine. The bedroom has all the features you would expect to ensure 4 star comfort. The bathrooms are modern and include a set of hospitality products, a hair dryer and bathrobes. There are several types of apartments available. Some are designed for two people, while others have an additional bedroom and a sofa bed to provide accommodation for a total of 6 guests. The exceptional amenities are truly of the highest quality, and our stay in this Iberostar hotel was a surprise of the very best kind.

    food and drink 8 /10

There is a wide variety of cuisine, and you can sample dishes prepared in front of your eyes, for example, Argentine cuisine or the gourmet breakfast service, not to mention desserts made by the chef that are absolutely delicious. The food is prepared with care, and there is no denying the quality of the dishes on offer. On top of this, the dining room is well decorated with original works of art by local artists and furniture full of character. The hotel really deserves to be applauded for the level of effort it has put into its cuisine, because it is not easy to find dishes of such high quality elsewhere on the island. As well as the hotel's main restaurant, a few light dishes are served up at the swimming pool bar. If you feel like eating out one evening, the hotel has a partnership with one of the island's best restaurants: La Pampa, which serves Argentinian cuisine.
