Hotel Bahia del Duque

Locate on the oceanfront, teh hotel is close to the new 'Urbanizacion Playas del Duque' development. This project is 1.5 miles away from the heart of Las Americas and from the pleasure Colon Port and just a few miles from multiple golf courses. About a 30 minute drive from the Tenerife Sur (or South Tenerife) airport, the Bahia del Duque is located about 12.5 miles away. The hotel is at about 50 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the Island.

The Bahia del Duque hotel is a modern and original complex that stretches out over an area of 817,760 feet² with a panoramic view of the sea and the Island of La Gomera. The hotel personnel welcome guests wearing folkloric dress. Among the other originalities there is also a jogging circuit with exercise breaks across the tropical gardens, an internet cafe and an observatory for admiring the stars. The building offers a total of 712 rooms and also a golf course of 9 holes and a spa centre.

The Bahia del Duque opened in 1993. It looks like a small village of 362 rooms, including 38 suites which are spread over 19 classic houses of Canarian architecture from the beginning of the century and with Victorian and Venetian accents. The building façades are painted in shades of ochre, sienna, salmon and white, contrasting with the typical Canarian beige stone that can be found in the surrouindings. The hotel is situated at the heart of 602,560 feet² of tropical vegetation with a small lake formed by 4 waterfall pools which pass via the beach. The hotel also has a reading room, with newspapers in different languages, a bridge and billiard salon, various sports fields, a jogging circuit, an observatory, 4 bars, a putting green and a shopping arcade.

The rooms are decorated in a classic and refined style. They are fitted out with wooden furniture, decorated ceilings, ceramics, warm soft furnishings and Spanish paving. Most of them are overlooking the sea and have a patio. They are equipped with a direct telephone line, satellite TV, air-conditionning, a safe and coin-operating mini-bar, a large bright bathroom with bathtub, bathrobes, make-up mirror and hair-dryer. Some of the rooms are connected especially for families.

There are eight restaurants with different themes. They have been carefully decorated and lie in the heart of the complex. Airy and floral, the main restaurant offers a buffet for 400 people and has a Canarian decoration. The food, fairly good and varied, is international. The clients can also try the "à la carte" dishes at the Spanish restaurant which has a great variety of tapas. There are also Italian and French restaurants as well as a Mediterranean Beach Club serving paella, fish and grilled meat. This restaurant is sea-facing.

The hotel offers direct access to the sandy beach. The beach is fully-equiped with sun loungers and showers as well as a water sports centre ( jet ski, upward parachute, banana boat) and games for kids. The beach is supervised. It is bordered by a cliff that connects it to other beaches of Las Americas, which are scaterred with bars, restaurants, small shops and games arcades.
