Hotel Bitacora

It lies 1,148 feet from the sea, in the hotel area south of Las Americas, less than 1 mile away from the Las Americas 18-hole golf Club. It equally lies 1.5 miles away from the Los Cristianos tourist area and its port. About 20 minutes driving from the airport Tenerife Sur, located at about 10.5 miles away. The hotel is at about 50 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island.

Very pleasant with the tropical gardens from the inside and from the outside, the Bitaccora hotel belongs to the Spanish Spring Hoteles hotels group which also includes the hotel Vulcano, located at 328 feet away. The clients can though take advantage of the foundations of the two establishments that mainly include a modern games park for children and a natural therapy centre (paying). Lots of golf courses are located on a 9 mile perimeter.

Opened in 1985 and renovated in 1999-2000, the hotel is composed by a building of 8 levels including 314 rooms out of which 16 connected, served by 4 elevators. At the base of the building, there are two large soft water pools out of which one is heated during the winter and a zone reserved for children. The clients are also offered a snack-bar, more sports fields and solariums surrounded by small pleasant sub-tropical gardens.

The spacious rooms are decorated with furniture made of simple, but warm wood. Half of the rooms overlook the pool; the others offer a view to the mountains and Las Americas. They offer direct telephone line, satellite TV, a safe and coin-operating mini-bar, both paying, adjustable air-conditioning and a light bathroom with bathtub and a hair dryer. A room service is readily available from 7:00 AM to midnight.

The meals are served as buffet in a large room that could accommodate up to 500 guests. The various and delicious gastronomy is of an international inspiration, but Canarian, Italian and Mediterranean specialties are also offered every week. A "cooking show" grill and vegetarian menus are equally available to clients. At the snack-bar located close to the pool, salads and simple dishes are offered, available à la carte at noon.

Access to the sea involves covering a 1,148 feet to 2,132 feet distance depending on the beach chosen and crossing a couple of streets. Supervised and well fitted out, they are medium sizes, bordered by palm trees and by a long cliff. The equipment on the cliff include sunshades, beach chairs, showers, bars and snack-bars. Water sports and games are readily available for children. Dykes break the waves to offer a rather calm sea suitable for bathing.
