In the south of Tenerife, on the oceanfront, close to the new 'Urbanizacion Playas del Duque' development, less than 1 mile away from Costa Adeje and from the pleasure Colon Port and just a few miles from the bulk of the islland's golf courses. About 30 minutes away from the Tenerife Sur Airport, the resort is located 12.5 miles away. The hotel is about 50 miles away from Santa Cruz of Tenerife, the capital of the island.

Tacande is the name of a volcanic black stone that has helped for the construction of the Dreamplace Gran Tacande, member of the group Dreamplace Hotels and Resorts. The use of this natural material gives the building an attarctiveappearance which differs from the concrete used so often in Tenerife. The decoration looks is bright and consists of Gaucho patterns, the native residents of the Island. Holistic and good quality, the spa Vitanova, with a surface of 24,748 feet², offers numerous services of relaxation therapies using products from well-known brands such as Thalgo, L'Oréal or Matispa. Lest we forget about the giant bubbling bath, sauna and hammam! There is also a thermal circuit that leads you out to the different pools: one at 27°C, one at 34°C (with hydrotherapy), one at 38°C for relaxation and one at 10°C for strengthening the body.

The Dreamplace Gran Tacande is a 4 unit building of 5 to 7 levels admirable fitted out and decorated, enjoying a Canarian architecture, coloured in pastel notes, adorned with traditional wooden balconies. The building that could welcome 250 guests blows off an undeniable charm. Each building has its own style. The all-present vegetation borders harmoniously the three sea water pools (open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM), including a pool heated at 26°C with an island accessible by a centered wood bridge. You will slowly come down to the water, as you were on the beach. The showers, sunshades and the beach chairs are sufficient for all the clients, who will get a glimpse of a few wildlife green parrots twirling between the trees. The children have also a small pool reserved specially for them, and of course a bubbling bath and a giant chess board game for fun. Richness of flowers, fountains and waterfalls fortify the sensation of harmony, a haven of tranquility, a true small paradise.

The 250 rooms of the Gran Tacande include 205 standard rooms (495 feet²), 6 junior suites (699 feet²), 37 senior suites (914 feet²), a royal suite (2,334 feet²) and an imperial suite (2,507 feet²). For each one of these, the decoration is sumptuous, with a wooden furniture and a four-poster bed. Very spacious, the units include a satellite TV hidden in the closet (30 channels including Euronews), individual air-conditioning, a free electronic safe, a mini-bar, a telephone with direct international line with outlets for fax and Internet, Wifi access and a big fitted out patio (699 feet²) (beach chairs, tables, armchairs) from here you could have a wonderful ocean view of 40% of the rooms, if not, they overlook the pool or the mountains. The full bathroom, well decorated (all-present wood) is very clean, offers a bathtub equipped by a flexible shower and by a handle door, separated toilets, a bidet, a separate shower with hydromassage jets, welcome products, double basins, bathrobes, slippers, shoehorns, shoe polish and hair-dryer. In short, everything is taken care of!

Catering services are excellent at the Dreamplace Gran Tacande, that offers the choice between three restaurants, two of which being à la carte restaurants and a buffet. The main buffet restaurant that could welcome up to 350 guests serves breakfats from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM and dinner from 7:00 PM to 10:30 PM. The food is worthy of a 5* hotel, various and very well displayed. You will be very pleased with the spots dedicated to the oil, the bread, to the fruits, to the pastry, to the spots dedicated for glasses, for salads and please don't forget about a richness of sauces of all kind. It's hard to resist to these appetizing arrangements! The meat lovers will choose between beef, pork or chicken, along with the traditional Canarian potatoes! Of course, all these foods are cooked in front of you! At noon, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, you can stay on a sunny patio close to the pool or to the à la carte Bocana restaurant and taste Canarian specialities: on the agenda, papas, grilled cheese and Mojo wipe. In the evening, the à la carte Bocoy restaurant only serves dinner in a creative Canarian gastronomy. For ending the evening, you can enjoy the lobby bar in a piano bar atmosphere, animated by a French pianist David.

Cross over the street and you're already on the Duque Beach, a beach hard to access and then more or less private. Guests arriving via boat from neighbouring Fanabe Beach must sail around the rocks of a gorgeous private villa which leads to a private lagoon protected from breaking waves. The black sand beach includes pergolas, beach chairs and showers (£2 per person). The sidewalk is lined by bars, restaurants and small shops bringing a little animation to the area. The building is supervised and even offers a nursery.
