Located on the seafront, close to the new '' Urbanizacion Playas del Duque'' , half a mile away from the heart of Costa Adeje and from the Puerto Colon marina and a couple of miles away from several golf courses. For the transfer from the Tenerife Sur airport, located approximately 12.5 miles away, expect a 30-minute journey. The hotel is about 50 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the island's capital.
The Grand Hotel Anthelia stretches on 645 835 ft² and has a panoramic view of the sea and La Gomera Island. Several times awarded for its style and decor, this modern hotel, a member of the Spanish hotel chain Iberostar, received The Award for best hotelier architecture in 1998-1999.The animation team is made up of 12 people, which is a number that is a lot higher than average for the hotels in Tenerife. It also benefits from a large kids-club for children aged 4 to 12 years . A new fitness space has just opened, The ''Thai Zen Space'', located on the other side of the street. Here you will find a sensational swimming pool, a Dead Sea swimming pool, one heated, one filled with cold water, a relaxation room, and booths for massages and Oriental treatments. Since May 2007, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Anthelia has been a 5 * hotel, after significant renovation. This is the first hotel of the Iberostar chain to receive a 5* in Spain.

Opened in 1999, the Iberostar Grand Hotel Anthelia consists of six buildings with 5 floors at the most, each connected to one another by long corridors. This top quality complex comprises 391 rooms, of which 20 are communicating. The hotel combines sophisticated and classic indigenous architecture with wooden furniture and wrought iron, in bright and airy spaces. Very large, it offers two large swimming pools for relaxation (open from 9 am to 7 pm) overlooking the sea, one of them with soft water and climatised and the other one is 21527 ft² and full of seawater. with two pools for children, some showers, sunshades, deck chairs and two pool bars. The impression of greatness grabs you as soon as you enter the huge and really impressive lobby, with a fountain in the middle.
Spacious and elegant, the rooms are equipped with noble wooden furniture, brightened by some warm colourful fabrics. They have large balconies, half of which overlook the sea and the others overlooking the gardens, the swimming pools and the mountains. Comfortable, they each have a direct telephone line, adjustable air-conditioning, satellite TV ( 40 channels ), a large safe-box which can be used for free (with white magnetic card supplied upon arrival), and a mini-bar at extra cost (stocked daily), with tea and coffee making facilities. Fully equipped and bright, the bathroom is really very clean and smart, with a bathtub fitted with a handle and a flexible shower, welcome products, a bidet, non-separate toilets, handkerchiefs , a hair-dryer and even a telephone. The suites have a large panoramic balcony looking onto the sea with two sofas, hardwood floors, a living-roon, a jacuzzi bathtub, a double sink and separate toilets. Clients staying in the suites also have access to a private pool as well as breakfast at Mirador, where they can enjoy a stunning view.
For meals, you can choose from 5 restaurants scattered within the hotel. All of them offer quality cuisine in a bright, pleasant decor. Very airy and spacious (able to accommodate up to 550 guests), the main restaurant, Zeus, opens up to the sea with a high ceiling, large bay windows and a large terrace. It offers delicious, varied internationnal cuisine, accompanied by Canarian and Spanish specialities. Breakfast is served from 7:00 am to 10: 30 am and dinner from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Guests may also eat at the grill-barbecue close to the swimming pool, from 1 pm to 4 pm, at the ''a la carte'' gastronomic restaurant, Poseidon, from 7 pm to 11 pm, and the Bodega Baco (Spanish tavern) from 6:30 pm to 11 pm as well as the Portofino pizzeria (open from 1 pm to 4 pm and then from 7pm to 11 pm). The choice of bars is also diverse, between the the lobby bar open from 9:30 pm to 1 o'clock in the morning, the Zumeria in the middle of the salt water swimming pool, serving from10:30 am to 6 pm, El Barito near the soft water pool, the suites bar (same opening times) and finally the Anthelia Mall, open from 8 pm until midnight.
Direct access to the pedestrian walkaway leads to Playa Fanabe beach, located less than 330 ft from the hotel. The facilities (extra cost) include beach umbrellas, deckchairs, toilets and showers. Water sports (notably parasailing, jet skiing and water skiing) and games for children are available. Supervised and well fitted out, the volcanic black sandy beach (that quickly heats up in the sun !) is bordered by a pedestrian promenade dotted with bars, restaurants, shops and games rooms.
