Hotel Neptuno

The Neptuno hotel is located on the south-east coast of Gran Canaria, at Playa del Ingles, 2,900 feet away from the eponym beach and its long walk bordered with bars, small shops and restaurants. Allow 20 minutes driving from the international airport of Las Palmas, located at 15 miles north. The hotel is about 30 miles away from Las Palmas, the capital of the island.

The entire building has a Wifi Internet access. An art exhibition is organised every month in the Atlantide salon, which is equipped with a great plasma screen and a piano. A solarium terrace reserved for nudists is located on the roof.

Built in 1990, the Neptuno hotel, member of the Canarian chain Mur went through a renovation in 2005. A 5 level building served by an elevator diffusing a nice ambience music hosts 171 rooms. A heated pool, 71 inches deep, is fitted out by a large water slide for the joy of children as well as adults. The kids can paddle in a small round pool 20 inches deep You can use the bathroom towels supplied in the rooms. Deckchairs, mattresses, toilets and showers are available. Overhanging the pool, a snack bar serves refreshments on the terrace.

Covered with hardwood floor and nicely decorated, the rooms of the Neptune hotel offer a queen size bed, an armchair, a satellite plasma TV screen (30 channels), a safe with an electronic code (?10, or £8 a week) large enough to fit a laptop, a mini-bar, individual air-conditionning, a direct international telephone line with an internet connection as well as a fitted out terrace. The bathroom has a bathtub equipped by a handle, flexible shower, toilets, a bidet, elaborated welcome products, a make-up mirror and a hair dryer. The 34 upper rooms also offer facilities for tea and coffee, bathrobes and slippers.

The buffet-restaurant Nautilus serves breakfast from 8.00am to 10.30am and dinner from 6.00pm to 9.00pm for the first service and then from 8.30am to 10.00pm for the second one. The clients can taste an international cuisine here with cooking shows, but also a healthy cuisine. For lunch, the bar of the Las Sirenas pool serves à la carte snacks from 12.00pm to 4.00pm. In the evening, you can drink something lobby bar.

The nice and large Playa del Ingles beach, one of the most renown of Gran canaria, is 330 feet away. Close to the pool located at the bottom, a door that can be opened by the magnetic room key allows access to the beach, located on the other side of the road. Here you can find all the necessary equipments: beach chairs and sunshades for 2.50 euros (£2), showers and a water sport club. This huge fine sandy beach that spreads on a few miles up to the well-known dunes of Maspalomas is supervised and bordered by numerous hotels, bars and restaurants.
