International StandardA hotel with renovated rooms that is suitable for a stopover, but has the disadvantage of not being located in the historic centre. No particular charm, therefore, nothing of a fitness centre. Choose it in case of emergency.
The hotel is located on Fügnerovo, in the Nove Mesto quarter (the New Town). The nearest subway station is IP Pavlova (a 5 minute walk). It takes about 20 minutes to get from the hotel to the historic centre (the Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge) on foot. The airport is 10.5 miles away. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to reach it.
The restaurant is open for all three meals: an advantage, especially as the immediate surroundings do not contain many typical taverns.
Snacks and hot dishes are available at the bar: you can order a sandwich, a salad or pastas.
Advice on lodging
On each floor, there is 1 room overlooking the back, 9 rooms overlooking a square planted with trees and 4 rooms overlooking the street. Ask for the rooms overlooking the backyard, so that you can avoid the traffic noise.
The rooms are not very spacious, so families and groups of friends had better book an apartment (5 family rooms, each for 6 persons).
This neo-Renaissance building has got 5 storeys, but it would be better in another colour than green (bizarre, given the architecture), but there is a treed area opposite the entrance, which justifies the name of the hotel (and consequently its colour). Inside this hotel, which opened in the mid 1990s and underwent a complete overhaul in 2007, you will find a reception with no lounge (a disappointment), a patio with a glass ceiling that serves as an addition to the restaurant and the bar (excellent), as well as an elevator that leads to the rooms. There! You have visited the hotel!
There are 66 lodgings in all. Of all the rooms, about one third are located in a quiet area (overlooking the back of the building) and the rest are exposed to noise (an avenue past the hotel). The rooms are not spacious: around 172 ft² for the double rooms, or even less. The rooms, which were renovated in 2007, have also had the furniture and decor entirely renewed. On the wall, a symbolist reproduction is hung, which reminds one of Klimt. The bathrooms are like the rooms: quite small. Depending on the accommodation, there is either a shower or a bathtub, soap, two personal skin care product samples, a hair dryer. The rest of the facilities? A television, a safe, air conditioning and telephone, a minibar. Only what is expected from a hotel in this category, nothing more.
There are two side-by-side dining rooms that extend onto the covered patio and the street. The decoration is pretty: wooden chairs, striped curtains in hues of yellow and green. To dine, you can seat in one or the other hall (depending on the service and the attendance) or on the covered patio. Breakfast is served buffet style and coffee is served at the table. For dinner and lunch, Czech and Mediterranean specialties are offered from a menu or a la carte. If you prefer to eat lighter cuisine, the bar is also used as a dining place during meal hours. You will not find anything original on the menu, but it is enough: a salad, a sandwich or pasta dish.
