Family
International StandardA hotel with facilities adapted for a discovery trip. It is a recommended place for families, as it has rooms for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Conveniently located, it allows you to explore the entire historic centre of Prague on foot (the Old Town Square and the Charles Bridge).
On Ve Smeckach, a small street located aside Wenceslas Square (Muzeum subway station). The Charles Bridge and Old Town Square are within a 10 minute walk. The airport is 10.5 miles away. It takes about 30 minutes to reach it.
The Fenix is managed by the same chain of hotels (K + K) as the Central. But it does not provide the same ambiance. Here, you will find less history and design because of the stress on the international standard. Recommended for families or groups of friends (the hotel's central location and the reasonable prices).
Advice on lodging
Note the size of the rooms (194 ft² for the double rooms, 270 ft² for the "family" roms). There is no extra space. If 4 adults come to stay, it is best to book two rooms. The rooms with double bed and a sofa bed are suitable for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. Beyond that, the rooms would become too cramped.
A 5-storey building opened in 1999, the Fenix hotel conceals a composite sytle lobby: wooden Japanese columns and translucent panels, the reception area in coloured marble, contemporay style benches and low tables and Italian lampshades. Whatever the time of day, the lights are subdued because the lobby lounge also serves as a bar. Daily international newspapers are supplied for the hotel's customers. Like the Central hotel, the Fenix has a small health club with free access. There are a few machines, a sauna and a cabin for massages and care treatments (these treatments are provided for an extra charge).
Of the 128 rooms and suites, a third of them overlook the street. ?f you want quiet, ask for a room at the rear (no traffic noise). The furniture is composite, as in the lobby: rattan armchairs, beds of light wood, sofa beds covered with beige fabric in all 28 "family" rooms. The decoration consists of a round mirror edged in brushed metal and two abstract paintings hung above the bed. The flat-screen television (33 channels) provided. Other facilities include: a direct dial telephone, air conditioning, a mini-kit for tea / coffee. The bathrooms in all rooms have a bathtub. There is also a hair dryer and an assortment of products branded K + K.
The breakfast room is located beside the lobby bar. The restaurant has no external view, but the mirrors are adorned with wooden braces which emphasize the effect of brightness. A hot and cold buffet is served in the morning, omelettes are cooked at your request and coffee is served at the table. During the day, catering service is available at the lobby bar. You can order a meal (pasta, meat in sauce or grilled), a soup, a sandwich. For dessert, or in the afternoon, try the "povidlove tasticky", a bohemian recipe: a crepe filled with plum cream and served with English cream.
