Hotel Cavo Maris Beach

The Cavo Maris Beach is located on the oceanfront, in a rural area, 1 mile away from Protaras, a newly open summer resort with no other attraction than its bars, restaurants and shops. Ayia Napa, the main summer resort of the western coast, is located 5 miles away. To reach the hotel from Larnaca airport (34 miles away), allow a 45-minute drive.

The Cavo Maris Beach is open from April to mid-November.
Protaras' shops, the closest town (1 mile away) are also open only in high season.
Fig Trees Bay, one of the nicest beaches of Cyprus is located in the southern edge of Proratas.

Dinners are usually accompanied by live background music.
There is a lot of animation everywhere, but it does not disturb the tranquility of the guests.

Built in 1991, the hotel offers a total of 243 rooms with a maximum capacity of up to 700 people. The outside façade - massive and not really attractive - houses an establishment with good quality services. The hallway is warm, lit by a large bay window, with wooden furniture covered with fabrics. The outside area is well fitted out: pool of a good size surrounded by deckchairs and a beautiful garden with Mediterranean scents. The panoramic view of the sea is very nice. A buoyant animation, including in the evening, (lots of games and competitions) is offered every day.

The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They overlook the sea (front or side) or the inland (pleasant). The decoration is basic, but tasteful: dark carpet, light-coloured wooden furniture, fabric curtains. All are equipped with satellite TV, a direct telephone line, adjustable air-conditioning, a large balcony or even a sundeck, and a bathroom (a little too small) with a bathtub.

Meals - copious and appetizing - are served buffet-style in a huge room, unfortunately a little too grey. The local and international cuisine, enriched by multiple specialities during thematic evenings (Italian, Cypriot, steakhouse, barbecue). If you wish to take your lunch outside, it will be served à la carte: on the shaded sundeck of the pool snack-bar or at the beach bar that serves shish kebabs. A second restaurant allows you to have a dinner lit with candlelights, and to order ''French'' specialities. The wine menu offers a large selection. 3 bars (sundeck, pool and beach).

Large lawns with a difference in height lead to a cove of golden and fine sand, surrounded by a few pebbles and clear water. The site is pleasant, surrounded by rocks and a small dock. You can practice all kinds of water sports. Deckchairs and sunshades are paying.
