Hotel Golden Coast Beach

The hotel is located on the oceanfront, in Pernera city. This is a new extension of the seaside area of Protaras (1.5 mile to the south) where tourism is intensive and mostly seasonal (the hotel and the shops are open from April to October). Ayia Napa, the biggest seaside resort of the south-eastern coast, famous for its nightlife, is 5 miles away when going along the coast through the Greko cape. To reach the hotel from Larnaca airport (30 miles away), allow a 50-minute drive.

The only centre of interest in Pernera are its shops. The beautiful Fig Trees Bay beach is located about 4 miles south of the hotel, at the exit towards the Protaras city. 4 people take care of the animation 7 days a week (English, French, German). These professional dance teachers welcome you. Different themes for shows are offered almost every night: Moullin Rouge, Blues, 70's, swing, Diana Ross...

Built in 1989, the Golden Coast hotel offers 228 rooms (including 208 standard rooms, 4 suites and 8 mini-suites) in an air-conditioned 4-level massive building. Open from April to October, it has just been renovated. Light bathes the uncluterred, modern hallway. The living-rooms - with comfortable sofas - are welcoming and decorated with care. There is a sweet and warm Mediterranean ambience outside, with small layered sundecks, a beautiful vegetation and benches to lounge on. The beautiful lagoon pool (6,400 square feet), the Greek chapel where weddings are celebrated do not spoil. As for sports and leisure, the services offered are numerous. A health an beauty centre is available: solarium, massage, beauty care... A marina located at the foot of the hotel, delights lots of clients. Sometimes, you will see here yachts belonging to celebrities. A very well-patronized store with jewellery, parfumes and newspapers is available. There is a conference room which can host meetings, weddings, seminaries...

The standard rooms are spacious, comfortable and decorated elegantly and soberly in a contemporary style (carpet, modern wooden furniture). Half of them offer a beautiful view of the port when you have the opportunity to have a sea view. The others overlook the inland (tennis, fields) - the view is not as elegant. All are equipped with satellite TV (16 channels), direct telephone line, adjustable air-conditioning, well stocked mini-bar, paying safe, a large balcony. The particularly large bathroom offers a bathtub/shower, hair-dryer and welcome products.

Meals are served as generous buffets in the morning (7.30am to 10.00am) and at noon (12.30pm to 2.30pm) in an easy-going atmosphere. The room, decorated with pastel colours, opens towards the gardens and is extended by a large sundeck offering a sea view. In the evening, from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, you can choose courses out of a very varied menu of an international inspiration, or you can enjoy more exotical buffets (Italian, Cypriot, Greek, barbecue, international, steakhouse). The ''Atrium'' restaurant is more formal and offers a quite successful neo-classical decor (high-ceilings, dark wooden furniture, frescos, carpet, cream-coloured walls). The wine menu is mainly composed of French and Italian wines. At last, the beautiful ''Ouzeria'' of the hotel allows you to taste à la carte local tasy specialities in the morning and in the evening in a Greek cafe decor. The two bars of the hotel (close to the pool and in the living-rooms, with a sundeck) serve snacks during the day.

Supervised, the beach right below the hotel is nice, but rather small. It offers gold sand, a blue flag, clear water and a lot of tranquility. The plastic deckchairs and sunshades are paying. Two private companies offer a large variety of water sports. If you want to practice diving, you should talk to the hotel' s staff.
