Hotel Botanico

330 feet from the Botanic Garden, some 1.5 miles from downtown Puerto de la Cruz and 2.5 miles from the Loro Parque animal park. To reach the hotel from the Los Rodeos airport north of Tenerife, located 12.5 miles away, will need a 30-minute drive and 1:30 from the Tenerife Sur airport located some 62 miles away. The hotel is some 25 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the Island.

Built in 1975 and renovated in 1997, the Botanico Hotel ranks amongst the members of the highly select club of "Leading hotels of the world", a title it holds alone in the Canary Islands. In the midst of 269,000 feet² of luxuriant subtropical gardens, one can admire different species of parrots displayed in open air cages. The unique and refined decoration of mainly Asian origin comprises assortment of original works of art, including 19th century Canarian paintings and a bust of King Juan Carlos of Spain.

Surrounded by luxuriant vegetation, the Botanica hotel is made up of a 6-storey building comprising 252 double rooms and 10 suites. Luxurious and cosy, the decoration blends thai sculptures, noble and gilt wood, all enhanced by warm and bright colours. In the midst of the tropical gardens, lie two stretches of pools, one of which carries sea water and a children's area, deck chairs, parasols, a snack-bar, 2 tennis courts, a golf putting green, billiards... The services of a beauty care centre are available on the spot.

The double rooms are luxurious, spacious and equipped with noble wood furniture, floor carpeting, warm and bright colours and fabrics. Half of the rooms offer a vista of the town and sea, while the others open up to the mountain and/or gardens. Luxuries include a direct phone line, satellite television, a safe and mini-bar (usable for a fee), and a complete bathroom fitted out with bathtub, hair dryer, bathrobe and bedroom slippers.

For half-board clients, they have a choice between 3 gourmet theme restaurants offering à la carte services. They can treat themselves to oriental (Thai, Vietnamese...), Mediterranean, Spanish and Canarian specialties. Each of these restaurants boasts an original and refined decoration that reflects the theme of the cuisine offered. At midday, the snack-bar by the pool offers delicious appetizing buffets with a broad variety of dishes.

Closely monitored and well maintained, the Playa Jardin is quite large, carpeted with coarse dark sand and flanked by a long foot walk. Equipment include parasols, deck chairs (both at extra cost) and showers. Water sports and games are readily available for children.
