Hotel Valle Mar

In Puerto de la Cruz, facing the sea,near the Lago Martianez Municipal Aquatic Complex and the city centre. To reach the hotel from the Los Rodeos airport north of Tenerife, located 12 miles away, allow a 30 minute drive and 1 hour and a half from the Tenerife Sur airport, located about 62 miles away. The hotel is about 25 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the Island.

Currently under renovation, the Valle Mar hotel will soon boast a brand new restaurant and common room. The hotel does not offer water sports or animations, but it has lots of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. An ideal destination for walking during the day and in the evening. Facing the hotel, located on the seafront, the Lago Martianez Municipal Aquatic Complex offers large pools, surrounded by gardens, deckchairs and sunshades (there is a charge for access).

Built in 1960, the Valle Mar hotel is composed of a 6-level building housing 171 rooms. As for relaxation, guests will have to content themselves with a fitness room, a billiard room, a ping-pong table and a small air-conditioned pool located on the roof of the hotel and with a few deckchairs and sunshades. From there, you will have a beautiful panorama of the bay.

The decor of the rooms is in classic brown-coloured wood furniture and red fabrics. Half of the rooms offer a stunning view of the sea and the promenade; the other half overlook the surrounding buildings. The facilities include a direct telephone line, a safe and a mini-bar (for a fee), satellite TV, adjustable air-conditioning and a small bathroom with bathtub.

The breakfasts and dinners are served buffet-style in the impersonal restaurant. The cuisine is mainly internationally inspired and offers both Spanish and Canarian specialties on a regular basis. A barbecue snack-bar is also available on the 5th floor.

The beach located 650 feet away from the hotel is really not interesting. About 1 mile from the hotel, you will find the nicest beach in the entire city, accessible through the maritime promenade. Supervised and well fitted out, the beach is medium size and covered with coarse black sand. The facilities include sunshades, deckchairs and showers. Water sports and games for children are also available.
