Well locatedThis spacious and comfortable club meets the expectations of both couples and families: animations, mini-club, spa, fitness centre, disco and other nice facilities. All set in a breathtaking panorama of the sea and the impressive cliffs of Los Gigantes.
Located on the ocean front, half-way between the touristic zone of Puerto Santiago and the cliffs of Los Gigantes, on the western coast of Tenerife and 18 miles north of Playa de Las Americas. Allow at least 45 minutes to reach the hotel from Tenerife Sur airport, 28 miles away. The hotel is 59 miles away from Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the capital of the island.
A member of the Barcelo Spanish chain of hotels, the Club Eldorador Santiago is managed by a strong 8-person team offering services to a varied clientele throughout the year. Among the services provided by this establishment ,you can order picnics if you want to go on a trip or enjoy the pleasures of the beach. Built on the Atlantic ocean, the club offers a beautiful scenic view of Los Gigantes cliffs and of the Gomera Island, but is located far from the beaches. In the evening, set your clock on Spanish time at the tapas bar. You will also find an ATM in the reception area. The Eldorado Santiago offers a quality spa, the balnearia spa, also present in the Villa Cortes at Playa de Las Americas. Open from 10.00am to 7.00pm, it offers a heated pool with massage jets, a cold water pool, a bath for feet, jet showers, a sauna, a Turkish bath and 3 massage cabins. Sport lovers can play soccer, handball or basketball on a multi sport field. For rock-climbing enthusiasts, there is a small climbing wall.
Open in 1987 and renovated in August 2006, the Eldorador Santiago is a large white 8 level buidling, including 406 rooms with 24 suites and 6 rooms for people with disabilities. The bright decoration matches in a spacious area warm-looking marble and refreshing rattan furniture. In the middle of the hotel, a large solarium space, embellished by luxuriant vegetation, offers a great view of the sea. It offers a large lagoon-pool (63 inches deep, open from 10.00am to 6.00pm) a second pool, a pool for kids, a nice snack-bar shaded by a straw hut, terraces, showers, deckchairs and sunshades. The views of Gomera Island and the wonderful cliffs of Los Gigantes are just gorgeous.
Bright and spacious, the rooms have dark rattan furniture, a small living-room with two leather armchairs and a desk, the entire floor covered with tiles. About 90% of the accommodations offer a stunning view of the sea, the Island of Gomera and the cliffs of Los Gigantes. You can even hear the noise of the waves breaking the rocks right at the foot of the hotel. The facilities include direct telephone line, a safe (?2 or £1.5 a day), a mini-bar (paying), satellite TV, adjustable air-conditioning, a large fitted out balcony (with remote control for the blinds) and a fully furnished bathroom - clean and well decorated with a bathtub (with a handle and a flexible shower), toilets, a bidet, welcome products and a hair-dryer. The upper rooms and the suites have leather sofa-beds, toilets separated by glass sliding doors, bathrobes, slippers and facilities for tea and coffee.
Offering a very pleasant ambience, with picture windows overlooking the sea and the stunning Los Gigantes cliffs, the large restaurant Puerto Santiago serves meals buffet-style with "show cooking". Here you can sample international cuisine and Mexican, oriental, Canarian or Spanish specialities, accompanied by local wine served in carafes. The sober decor uses light massive wood furniture and azure-blue fabrics. Breakfast is served from 8.00am to 10.30am, lunch from 1.00pm to 3.00pm and dinner from 6.30pm to 9.30pm. At noon you can have barbecue grills at the pool snack bar and enjoy a sumptuous panorama. In the evening, you can have dinner at the Spanish à la carte restaurant Sabor, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, or you can try the tapas at the Tapas bar from 7.00pm to 1.00am. To quench your thirst, you can choose between the lobby bar with its large plasma-screen TVs, the theatre bar from 8.00pm to midnight, the excellent tapas bar (smoking area) and the Los Gigantos bar near the pool, with its great views of the cliffs of the same name.
To get to the most beautiful beach, playa Arena, you have to walk more than 0.5 miles, cross over a few streets and walk along the coast. A free shuttle will get you there from Tuesday to Sunday from 9.00am to 5.00pm. Supervised and well-planned, this medium size beach with fine black sand is bordered by palm trees and a long pedestrian promenade. Facilities include sunshades, deckchairs, toilets (?0.20 or £0.10) and showers (?0.60 or £0.5). Water sports and games are readily available for children. However, beware of the strong currents. Another pebble beach, not recommended for children, is about 2,200 feet away from the hotel, directly behind the port. It is accessible by a slightly complex route.
