AnimationLively and welcoming in an ideal seaside setting, the Sunscape Punta Cana is neither too big nor too small. A true luxury for the region and one of the biggest resorts... This hotel is one of our favourites.
$Located on the eastern coast of the Dominican Republic, north of the resort of Punta Cana on the beautiful beach Cabeza del Toro, the hotel is just 12.5 miles from the Las Americas International Airport, half an hour's drive by car. For transfers, the hotel is within two hours from the airport of La Romana (65 miles) and four hours from the airport of Santo Domingo (127 miles).
The Sunscape Punta Cana is a perfect place to stay, north of the beautiful Bavaro beach, at the intersection of the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea. Well equipped, lively and pleasant, with many services and a bonus - architecture that respects the seductive charm and exoticism of the place. A number of sporting activities are provided.
The reception at the Sunscape, in tones of green, is in a luxurious setting : Huge wrought-iron chandeliers, two imperial style staircases adjacent to a modern gilded elevator, to climb one floor, all respecting the tasteful, mahogony furniture. The rest follows: As for the buildings, with French Caribbean architecture, they are well integrated into the vegetation for the quality of facilities and services. The fitness gym is fragrant and has a pleasant air conditioning as well as an adorable kid's club.
The 346 comfortable standard rooms (all with a king-size bed or two double beds) and 8 suites are distributed in five buildings on two floors. On the ground floor of each building, there is an ice dispenser. Access to the rooms through external stairs is pleasant and the rattan furniture offers numerous places for storage. Modestly decorated, all are well equipped : air conditioning, a full mini-bar, a bathroom with a shower and a separate toilet, satellite TV, a safe, telephone (telephone for direct international dialling), a hair dryer, a coffee maker and balconies with a tablet and two chairs.
The hotel has four restaurants, partly open and air-conditioned, and seven bars. This means that the choice is all yours. The main buffet near the reception offers international cuisine of high quality and, twice a week, serves Dominican cuisine. Among the three restaurants serving à la cart, no reservation is required, the "Tex Mex" (upstairs) and the snack-grill are located on the beach, both well equipped. Considerable effort has gone into the decor. Remember that you can dine there for all meals, morning, noon and evening. The Italian restaurant, nestled in the gardens near the swimming pool, offers a romantic atmosphere. It is a pity it is slightly too air-conditioned. Worth noting is the beach bar, open 24 hours a day and the piano bar, for its atmosphere.
Situated at the intersection of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, the beach at Sunscape Punta Cana, north of the famous beach of Bavaro, is very beautiful. Well equipped (deck chairs in the shade of large straw umbrellas, land sports, a sailing centre) it retains the tropical charm thanks to the pleasure boats along the coconut grove. The strip of sand, white and fine, is not very wide. The water is crystal clear. Enjoy the vibrant sporting atmosphere, to the sounds of merengue.
