Hotel Catalonia Bavaro

Located in Punta Cana, the tourist epicentre in the country with its 25 miles of beach, encircled by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest coast of the Dominican Republic, the Catalonia Bavaro hotel is situated on the Bavaro beach, some 37 miles from the bustling town of Higuey (within 1 hour) and a three hour and a half drive from Santo Domingo, the capital town of the Dominican Republic. The airport of Punta Cana is 16 miles from the hotel (20 minutes).

In Punta Cana, the Catalonia Bavaro is a hotel of good standard. Very popular with French customers, this fancy hotel offers a wide range of services and activities, in a beautiful tropical garden. Yet, apart from its junior suites, nothing distinguishes this hotel from its "cousins" on the Bavaro beach on the beautiful bay of Punta Cana. A good product for relaxation, although without character...

Here, pink flamingos, a small wooden bridge, and a natural mangrove... this hotel, built in 1998, is integrated into a nice tropical garden. 31 colonial style bungalows with 24 junior suites, for a total of 711 rooms, have been developed as accommodations. The large swimming pool and its integrated bar, the beautiful beach, the common areas, everything is there to satisfy the pleasure of tourists. From the lobby to the sea, the services and the garden form a long, very long pathway lined on both sides by the bungalows. A little rigid!

The rooms of the Catalonia Bavaro are all junior suites! For comfort, they are spacious and well equipped: air conditioning, satellite television, a fan, a mini-bar, a marble bathroom with a round bathtub and a separate shower, a hair dryer and a safe. A must: the small terrace with an integrated hammock is a rarity in the hotels of Punta Cana!

No fewer than eight restaurants, open or semi-open air or air conditioned... This is what the Catalonia Bavaro offers! For a week, you won't be bored. Especially since the cuisine is approved by the hotel's guests, including Frenchmen. Out of the eight restaurants, four offer thematic cuisine, served a la carte and available with a reservation: the Japanese, Brazilian grill, Italian and French, very romantic. The others, two buffets, a snack and a pancake house, are also excellent.

The beach of the Catalonia hotel, namely Playa Bavaro, is the most famous in Punta Cana. With its transparent waters and white sand, it is difficult not to be seduced! The beach extends far beyond the horizon, although it does not belong only to the hotel - all neighbouring resorts share this beach. The only problem: the nagging noise of the boat engines, which fly by on the waves all day. The beach of the Catalonia Bavaro hotel provides many deckchairs and houses the water sports centre, which offers a wide range of activities.
