Hotel Palladium Bavaro Grand Resort

Located in Punta Cana, the touristy epicentre of the country with its 25 miles of beach, between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest coast of the Dominican Republic, the Palladium Bravo Grand Resort is on the Bavaro beach, 500 m away from Plaza Bavaro ( the new town centre offers really nothing authentic ), 37 miles away from the bustling town of Higuey and 3h30 away from Santo Domingo, the capital town of the Dominican Republic. The airport of Punta Cana is 15.5 miles away from the hotel ( 20 minutes ). A bus stop is located 1 mile away from the hotel.

Built in 1992 and renovated in December 2003, the Palladium is a very comfortable hotel, which occupies the largest part of a huge complex. Lively, friendly, well equipped, it provides multiple activities ... These are lots of assets ! Its big advantage is that everyone can get something out of it : couples, families, young people and groups. Since its recent addition of 33 honeymoon suites , the Palladium hotel is perfect for newlywed couples.
However, bear in mind the following : you must love large buildings, which inevitably lose the friendly touch. A shuttle runs across the complex from 10 a.m. until midnight.
All the clients of the Palladium have access to the restaurants and bars of its two neighbours, the Fiesta Beach and the Fiesta Palace.
It is a great place to stay for some 15 days, as a couple, a group or with your family.

The Palladium includes 62 small buildings spread over vast flowery gardens, on 320,000 m². The buildings are white, rather elegant and extend on each side of the main pool and the theatre, open since December 2003, which is adjacent to the disco. The distances are sometimes too long between the facilities. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the beach from the reception area. At night, the multiple lights of the wrought iron chandeliers reflect on the marble floor and illuminate the gardens, giving the Palladium a particular charm.

A total of 636 rooms are housed in one-storey buildings, each with 8 units. It is pleasant to walk in the paths, very well laid out in the middle of paradise flowers and flowers of all colours, winding around the area. Distances can seem a little long, but the accommodations are very comfortable, supplied with wooden furniture. All the rooms are equipped with individually controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, a mini-bar ( supplied three times a week ), a coffee machine, a safe, a terrace or a furnished balcony, a hair dryer. The suites are fabulous. Ask for the rooms on the ground floor, which have bigger terraces.

The Palladium has six restaurants, all offering quality cuisine, despite the gigantic size of the hotel. The main buffet ( air conditioned ), La Catedral, near the reception area, offers about a twenty wines ( but with only two wines included ), a dozen starters, main courses and desserts. It will satisfy everyone. It is too bad it serves only in the morning and in the evening. For lunch, you can choose between two other buffets : the Chichiga, on one hand, offers a limited choice of Italian cuisine and also provides the evening meal, and El Arrecife, on the other hand, located on the beach, which offers snack meals during the day. The latter turns into an a la carte restaurant where you can have dinner, with a reservation, in the evening. It then serves only international cuisine, but provides more privacy and fancy decoration. A Mexican restaurant serves a la carte, but you need a reservation. The customers of the Palladium hotel also have access to the four restaurants of the two hotels nearby. This means that the choice is all yours.

The beach of the Palladium, the Playa Bavaro, is the most famous in Punta Cana. With its translucent water and white sand, it is difficult not to be seduced ! The hotel enjoys a larger area than its two neighbours within the complex. The beach looks like a large creek , shaped like a semi-circle. Equipped with deckchairs in the shadow of coconut trees, it houses a restaurant, but has managed to retain the charm of the tropics. You have to walk east a few minutes up to the Fiesta Beach to reach the water base.
