Hotel Punta Cana

Located in Punta Cana, the tourist epicentre in the country with its 25 miles of beach, encircled by the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, on the southwest coast of the Dominican Republic, the Punta Cana Hotel is 30 miles away from the bustling town of Higuey (within 1 hour) and a three hour and a quarter drive from Santo Domingo, the capital town of the Dominican Republic. The international airport at Punta Cana is 6 miles from the hotel (within 10 minutes), and the international airport of Santo Domingo, Las Americas, is three hours away.

The Punta Cana Hotel can easily compete with other resorts in Punta Cana. It enjoys a unique location, isolated from the Bavaro beach, an area where the majority of the hotels are concentrated (its only neighbour is the Club Med!). The lagoon beach, superb golf... this Dominican hotel, built in 1988 and renovated in 2000, only lacks a touch of care, maintenance and animation.

The Punta Cana Hotel, with an area of 105 acres, boasts 2,000 palm trees, 800 meters of seafront and has one of the most beautiful beaches in Punta Cana, thanks to the lagoon. It is a pity that the tropical park and the common areas of the hotel are poorly maintained. A pity also that the two 6-storey buildings offering accommodation have no particular character. Choose the small individual villas on the beach.

The 400 rooms of the Punta Cana Hotel are located in two 5-storey buildings (superior rooms), a 2-storey building overlooking the sea (the Cocotal bedrooms) and in small individual villas on the beach. The superior rooms (270 ft²) are well-equipped with amenities and offer comfort expected of a hotel of international standing: a bathtub, air conditioning, satellite TV, a large balcony or a terrace, a mini-bar, telephone.

The five restaurants in the Punta Cana Hotel offer high quality cuisine. Especially the two restaurants serving "a la carte". the Italian Mama Venezia and La Cana restaurants, which, more than once during your stay, will offer a Creole menu. La Tortuga, a buffet restaurant and another two restaurants, the pizzeria and La Choza grill, are open at noon and offer a more relaxed ambiance.

The beach at the Punta Cana Hotel is truly exceptional. With its transparent waters and white sand, it is difficult not to be seduced! Amid all this serenity, the hotel hosts a sailing club, which offers a wide range of activities. Yet, its beach facilities could be better managed.
