Hotel Il-Palazzin

In the centre of Qawra, 300 m away from the sea front and 10 miles away from Valetta. The airport is 12 miles away. Allow 25 min for transfer.

The hotel is also suitable for senior clients which above all are in search of rest. Located downtown, it is in a quiet area but you can easily take a tour around the island if you wish. On the other side, the active holidays amateurs will be disappointed by the hotel leisure activities and its relative remoteness to the sea front.

The Il-Palazzin was built in 1996 and it has been renovated in 2000. From the outside, it is an ochre and beige 6-floor building, which somewhat reminds you of pasteboard. The inside is dark, with a rather cold lobby made of marble : it would be better with more lounges. A 150 m² pool located behind the hotel helps you to relax. It is surrounded by a little solarium that has several deckchairs and sunshades. We would appreciate more greenery on the sides. The hotel also has an indoor pool and a sauna.

The 79 rooms are spacious, but only those located in front of the hotel and on the last floor have a view of the sea. The others overlook the pool. As for the furniture, do not expect anything extraordinary : the bed, chest of drawers and desk are extremely simple and the checked cloths will not please everyone. On the other hand, the facilities are sufficient : air conditioning, balcony, bathroom with hair dryer, direct telephone line and satellite television.

Unfortunately, the restaurant room is a bit dark ( the baywindows are framed by heavy curtains ) and very simply decorated ( fair wooden tables next to each other ). As for the catering service, the dishes served hold no surprises : pasta, sandwiches and pizzas at noon, meat and fish in the evening, with potatoes and green vegetables.
