The Kia Ora hotel is 2.5 miles from the airport (5 min. by car).
This hotel is one of the few in Polynesia where families will find lodging allowing kids to be housed in separated rooms The hotel standing is growing quickly and several bungalow renovations are planned.
The Kis Ora has 63 very comfortable bungalows on a large park covered with coconuts around 330 feet from Tiputa pass, one of the two main passes of Rangiroa atoll. This perfectly maintained hotel has a welcome, friendly atmosphere, and very professional quality service. It was built in 1972. It is located directly on the verge of the lagoon and has a beautiful wooden pier alongside a restaurant and a bar overlooking the water. You will appreciate its ideal situation for seaside activities. The Kia Ora has a pool, tennis court and offers Japanese and Thai massages as well as esthetic care. It has rental cars (cars and scooters) managed by an external manager but directy available on site.
The Kia Ora bungalows are large (290 feet² minimum - 680 feet² maximum), have a refined decor and are very comfortable. The quality of the facilities should be stressed: air-conditioning with fans, refrigerators (only 10 stilted bungalows have a full minibar), electronic safe, hair dryer, tea/coffee kit.... Half of the bungalows are located in the garden and set up to guarantee peace and quiet. The 10 stilted bungalows are the largest accommodations that the hotel offers (cover service, room-service on demand), but the Deluxe category bungalows also have very good rating. Be aware that no unit is equipped with television. Nevertheless, all bungalows have outside jacuzzis, and the "Premium" have private pools. Finally, several bungalows have been especially adapted for families with separated rooms on the same level, even duplex.
The Kia Ora has an unique restaurant which serves three meals each day. The setting is friendly and open to the outdoors. A la carte menu is served 5 days of the week and there are 2 spectacular buffets on Wednesdays and Sundays. International, French, and Tahitian dishes. Open from 18:30 PM to 9 PM. The menu includes several hot and cold entrées, pasta, several kinds of fish (grilled or sauce), several kind of meat and attractive desserts. Regarding prices, expect 20 pounds for the main dish. The wine menu is decent with a few great choices.
Along the entire length of the property, namely 985 feet, the beach faces the inside part of the atoll. With sand, clear water, deckchairs and parasols, the setting will perfectly suit leisure lovers. For those who don't like salt water, the hotel has a beautiful overflow fresh water pool. Finally, the Kia Ora has an excellent diving club, the Dolphin Club, offering a large range of specialities. initiations, night diving, Nitrox, etc. It is famous for its professionalism and service quality.
