CharmThe Gazebo is a pleasant surprise for a 2*. At the centre of a woody park, on the seafront, it offers a pleasant and relaxing setting as well as simple but charming accommodation.
In the centre of Sanur, the hotel is 14 miles from Ngurah Rai airport (15/20 minutes), 9 miles from Denpasar (10/15 minutes) and 10.5 miles from Kuta beach (20/25 minutes).
The hotel has its own bakery. Dutch bicycles are available free of charge. We recommend the "cottage bungalows" in the loft style (No 203, 205 and 207).
The Gazebo is a simple establishment, full of charm, and located within a long park along the seaside. There are 75 rooms, each different from the last, spread accross a series of bungalows. The setting is ravishing, with various hideaways in which you can lounge, have a massage or play chess, all within the middle of a verdent area in which you could almost lose yourself. The bungalows offer a truly picturesque architecture: sculpted doors and bas-relief. Though the establishment is somewhat lacking in sporting equipment, it does however have a small but well equipeed gym (including a punch bag) and a jacuzzi. There are few entertainments planned, bar a Saturday aerobics class and woodwork sessions.
Though the rooms are very simply furnished, the carefully planned decor was well appreciated: pastel tones, various handmade ornaments and attractive furniture. No TV provided but there is a telephone (available 24 hours via a switchboard), air conditioning, mini bar, large terrace and attractive bathroom. Room service is not available 24 hours, but rather until 11 PM (last order at 10 PM).
2 restaurants are available: one at the entrance of the hotel (with its own bakery) and a beachside restaurant (160 covers) that offers a very pleasant setting, facing the sea. The guests can choose between a selection of Italian, international and Indonesian dishes.
The rather small beach is sadly framed by two cement jettys. The water is clear. A small footpath separates the beach from the hotel. The other problem with the beach is to do with the depth of the water - the same problem with the majority of Sanur beaches - little water at low tide.
