A graceful and hushed atmosphere radiates from this high standing hotel erected on Legian beach north of Kuta. It is built on a large 17-acre airy park at the foot of the beach and has a series of 75 bungalows and villas spotted around a building housing the common areas: lobby, restaurant and very pool. It has a Balinese-inspired architecture built with local materials, stones and straw roofs. The hotel offers few sports facilities: tennis, ping-pong and an impeccable and perfectly equipped fitness centre found in the middle of a water lily pond. The comfort in the Lanais, or "standard" rooms is flawless. All built at ground level and set into groups of four in cottages or villas (60 + 15), they are of a good size - between 591 and 645 ft² and showing off flawlessly chic decor. The decor shows marble floors, traditional furniture, high wooden beds, terrace and small garden separated from the bathroom by a bay-window. The bathrooms are large, with an integrated bathtub, separate shower and twin washbasins. The equipment is of top quality: TV/video (20 channels), hi-fi sound system, large safe, direct telephone line, air-conditioner, stocked mini-bar.

2 restaurants, the "Frangipani Cafe" on the seafront and the Kura Kura just behind it offer a cosy atmosphere and a menu designed by a Swedish chef. The guests can be treated to Italian, Indonesian, Indian and Balinese specialities, and also seafood. The elegant beach of Oberoi is a small 985-foot long bay. The beach has lifeguards but no sailing club. Covered with average-size golden sand, it is stretched backward by a lawn equipped with deck chairs and beach umbrellas. The view is fantastic, with a calm sea only disturbed by few breakers...
