Hotel Jaz Mirabel Club

The hotel is in the east of Nabq Bay towards the end of Sharm el Sheikh meaning there aren't too many neighbouring hotels in the area yet. The Jaz Mirabel Club is part of the Mirabel Resort, which is one large complex of three hotels: the Jaz Mirabel Club, Jaz Mirabel Park and Jaz Mirabel Beach. Guests have access to the other resorts' facilities but can only obtain free food and beverages from their own resort.

Open in 2006, the Jaz Mirabel Park resort is an excellent quality resort; in fact all Jaz resorts are easily in the top 10 of Sharm el Sheikh hotels. Owned by a very reputable Egyptian businessman and decorated by his wife, Jaz hotels are well known for their high standard finish ? which could have something to do with the fact that Jaz has its own building company to ensure this. The Jaz Mirabel Club is part of a complex consisting of two other Jaz Hotels, Mirabel Beach and Mirabel Club. Also part of the Jaz chain in Sharm el Sheikh is the Sham Suites (soon to become Jaz Bab el Shams), and the quaint Jaz Belvedere Resort. Jaz has also recently merged with Iberotel (of which there are 5 in Sharm) and Sol Y Mar (of which there are 4 in the area). This large complex is ideal for families looking for something of little more quality and just for the standard of the food, it is worth putting in the couple of extra £100 to stay here. In terms of facilities, the resort also has a discotheque as well as Mirabel Spa and Health Club with a fully equipped gym, whirlpool, and dry/wet saunas in the larger Mirabel Resort Complex. Two swimming pools (one heated in winter) are exclusively available to Jaz Mirabel Club guests as is a heated Kid's pool. The resort boasts a very good spa with a great Egyptian bath/Jacuzzi - definitely one to be tested. It is fresh, clean, relaxing and small details such as exotic flowers in the waiting area. There is also a large shopping arcade of 50 stores.

The exterior of the building reflects the interior - simple yet stylish with an oriental influence. The lobby is extremely pleasant, with fashionable touches of purple. It feels clean and crisp. There is a large vase of flowers in the centre which slices what could be a cold edge created by the cream marble flooring. The lobby bar is opposite the reception desk on the other side of the lobby; here guests are free to smoke, as in most Sharm el Sheikh resorts. There is then a door from the lobby which leads straight to the swimming pool surrounded by the accommodation buildings adorned in verdant foliage and fuchsia bougainvilleas. The entire place, although not extremely big, is relaxing and extremely well kempt. The operation here feels and looks smooth; the staff seem relaxed as do the guests. The Jaz Mirabel Park is one of the best resorts of the Red Sea Coast due to its good quality finish and the owner's wife's attention to detail while keeping things simple when it comes to interior decoration.

Jaz Mirabel Club has 160 well appointed rooms all overlooking the swimming pool: superior rooms (30 m²), superior family rooms (36 m²), deluxe family rooms (36 m²), and 2 junior suites (70 m²). All rooms are individually air conditioned and may be joined through connecting doors. Most feature queen size or twin beds and all have a balcony or terrace. The rooms are well decorated, are spacious and airy, bright and chirpy. The wicker furniture framed by black iron is extremely simple but tasteful and of good quality. The bathrooms are of a good size and look clean and fresh with a good selection of Jaz own-brand toiletries. The rooms have all the expected commodities (television, safe, mini fridge, filled upon request) including a detailed room directory (rare in Sharm) translated into three languages which further denotes the quality of the establishment.

Although Jaz Mirabel complex guests can make the most of all three resorts' facilities, food and beverages from other resorts is not included in the all-inclusive formula for Jaz Mirabel Park guests. The resort has an elegant clean and relatively intimate main restaurant, the Cactus, offering a good variety of good quality food. Nothing here to shake a stick at! Eating at the Mirabel Club Resort is a very pleasant experience. The staff is extremely friendly, the tables are nicely laid out with clean and crisp royal blue table runners and the buffet looks appealing. The restaurant has large bay windows with views to the lovely green and flowery gardens making eating here a nice all-round experience. Guests of the Jaz Mirabel Club may also dine at any one of the Italian, Chinese and Oriental restaurants or snack beach bar within the overall Mirabel Resort complex at an extra charge. In total there are four bars, the Boudoir bar on the terrace, the Ginger pool bar (light snacks and drinks), the Sunrise pool bar (drinks only) and the beach bar (drinks only). The restaurants are very well decorated and a pleasure to try. The menu and wine list look fairly extensive too which gives guests a little variety (meals here upon reservation only).The tables are well laid out, good quality crockery is used and the staff are professional.

The advantage of the beach here is the shallow water which is good for children and beach dwellers wishing to sunbathe while staying cool. There is also beach volley.
