Hotel New Tower Palace

Downtown, facing the sea. Valetta is located 3 miles away ( a 15 minute trip ) and the airport 5 miles away ( a 25 minute trip ).

Although it is not located next to a beach, the New Tower Palace is a convenient place for a relaxing stay thanks to its rooftop swimming pool. Those who want to discover the island will also appreciate that a bus passes in front of the hotel. You can easily get to Valetta and from there take tours throughout the island.

The New Tower Palace was built in 1995 and renovated in 1999. Its seven-floor exterior façade is made of concrete, and the balconies are all the same. People don't hang out in the marble lobby much - it is rather dark, in spite of some lights on the wall. It is a better idea to go up to the rooftop terrace : there is a 50-m² swimming pool there with water that seems to visually blend in with the sea. Deckchairs with mattresses and sunshades allow you to enjoy the solarium and the panoramic view, without anything obstructing your view.

The 62 rooms have balconies and a sea view. Spacious, bright and furnished with light wood, these rooms are very pleasant. They are air-conditioned and include a bathroom, with shower or bathtub, a direct telephone line, satellite television and a mini-bar. However, you have to pay to use the safe.

The catering service is not the hotel's asset. Only the morning's continental breakfast is included in the price. You have to pay extra for scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon. The dining room is not at all attractive : its decoration is somewhat overdone and the dishes they serve ( pizza, pasta, meat and fish ) are rather tasteless. For a quick lunch, or to get a drink, you can also go to the coffee shop.
