Well locatedThe Preluna Towers is a hotel offering good value for the money. It has a panoramic bay view, while still close to activity centres in Sliema.
Downtown, facing the Lido ( seaside promenade ). Valetta is located 3 miles away ( a 15 minute trip ) and the airport 5 miles away ( a 25 minute trip ).
Although facing the sea, the Preluna Towers does not have a beach. The Lido ( Sliema promenade ) goes along a rocky coast which quickly discourages you from swimming there. On the other hand, the hotel has an outdoor swimming pool on the seashore which makes up for this inconvenience a little bit. As for activities, a fitness room with a glass roof is available, as well as a small indoor swimming pool.
The Preluna Towers proudly sets on 8 floors facing the Sliema seafront. Its construction dates back to 1969; it was reconfigured in 1996 and renovated since. The massive façade is somewhat impersonal ( concrete and Plexiglas balconies ). The interior, on the other hand, has an immense spiral stairway in a hall lit by many spotlights. Several lounges in pastel tones give a certain style. But the most pleasant place is certainly the swimming pool located on the seashore, on the other side of the road. With a surface area of 150 m², it offers an open view on the bay. A fitted out solarium ( deckchairs, mattresses and sunshades ) allows you to relax in front of this pleasant panorama.
The 280 rooms are spacious, brilliant and nicely furnished. Prefer those located in front of the sea, because the others face the surrounding buildings. They have a balcony, bathroom with shower and hair dryer, mini-bar, direct telephone and satellite television. Their layout includes carpet on the ground and clear, functional and uncluttered wooden furniture. The balcony, covering the entire length of the bay window, is equipped with a table and 2 garden chairs.
The main restaurant serves buffet-style meals in a large dining room extended along a panoramic terrace. The cooking is substantial and rather varied, with cereals, fruits and hot dishes for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, you can also eatl at the pizzeria located on the first floor, or taste one of the recipes offered by an a la carte restaurant. The internationally inspired dishes contain meats, fish and seafood. A good wine selection completes the menu.
