Built in 2002, this Victorian House is a charming hotel which is classified as one of the "Charming hotels of the world."
Nestled on a cliff overlooking the beautiful bay of Sosua, the Victorian House is located only 10 minutes from the international airport at Puerto Plata and 16 miles from downtown Puerto Plata, on the north coast of the island.
The reception occupies a 100-year-old house, one of the first built beside the Bay of Sosua, a paradise for lovers of scuba divers. It is adjacent to the main building, constructed in harmony with the architecture of the region. The hotel is open all year round. Customers have access to the facilities of the adjacent Sosua Bay Resort. The Dominican hotel group Sosua Ocean Front has recently purchased two hotels previously owned by the Dominican chain Starzresorts, which manages the Azzurro Club and the Club Cabarete Estrella in Cabarete.

Building 7, added in December 2005 and directly overlooking the sea, enjoys the best views of the sea. Those on more affordable budgets should choose the lavish penthouses: arranged on two levels, they bathe in the light passing through large bay windows and enjoy delightful decor and a large jacuzzi in the room or on the terrace.
Inspired by Victorian style as its name suggests, the Victorian House exhibits colonial architecture in white and blue and was built on three levels on the beautiful bay of Sosua. The rooms are arranged on the top two levels. From the reception, you can reach the swimming pool, surrounded by a vast sun lounge terrace floored with parquet. The hotel offers many sporting activities : tennis, yoga, stretching, Tai-chi, bicycles and various non-motorised water sports (no extra charge) and motorised (for extra payment). A kid's club, "The Ninja club", hosts children from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (the bilingual team of activity organisers, television, games, toilets). Children can play in shacks shaped like tomatoes or in a large "Robinson" hut, and bathe in a small wading pool equipped with a jacuzzi.
The Victorian House has only 50 rooms. They include 32 superior rooms and 18 suites. All rooms offer a magnificent view of the beautiful bay of Sosua and include telephones for direct international dialling, safes, air conditioning, large screen televisions (82 channels), corner mini-bars (a kit for coffee / tea included ), king-size beds with mosquito netting (a canopy net in the penthouse) and small private balconies. They each have a large, lovely bathroom, all in marble with a wooden ceiling, with a large tropical shower, personal skin care products, a hair dryer, slippers, non-separate toilet, bathrobes and a magnifying mirror. The two-levels of the penthouse suites are connected by a spiral staircase and have a large terrace equipped with a rattan deck chair. Each room has a jacuzzi, a DVD player and a kitchenette with microwave. Large bay windows, like those of bow windows let the shining light in. All are decorated elegantly and tastefully, with antique wooden furniture and a touch of tropical inspiration.
The hotel has three restaurants serving a la carte menus. All have a very pleasant view of the sea.
Overlooking the beach, Le Sabbatini restaurant serves "a la carte" Italian specialties (with a reservation), and displays paintings made by the employees of the hotel. Meanwhile, the Marco Polo restaurant offers Asian specialties (with a reservation). Finally, "The Golden Star" restaurant offers creative, high quality French cuisine. Customers have access to the nearby restaurants of the Sosua Bay Resort: The Bahia serves meals buffet style, of very good quality, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Similarly, the Bougainvillier (grill buffet) and Patio Grill will satisfy all your desires for snacks during the day. Four bars are also available to customers.
The hotel is located on the waterfront. You can access the beach from the terrace, which serves as a sun lounge, by way of a small staircase. The property enjoys a very convenient location Indeed, the Sosua Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches on the northern coastline: crystal clear waters and fine sand. Sheltered from the wind and protected by the coral reef, it is known for its diving spots. A widely exploited asset by the hotel, which offers many water activities. The beach is equipped with deck chairs and umbrellas (available for free). Some ruins of an ancient port are visible under the sea.
