Located just north of the village and the beach at Sainte-Anne, the Club Med Les Boucaniers is 34 miles from Fort-de-France and 28 miles (50 minutes) from the airport at Le Lamentin.
Reopened in December 2005, following an extensive overhaul, the Club Med Les Boucaniers now has 4 tridents.
Built in 1971 in a 56 acre park, surrounded by a vast coconut grove, the hotel occupies an immense area directly on the seafront. A swimming pool of 5,380 ft², a spa centre, white sand and turquoise waters, sailing, water skiing, wakeboarding... Here are the joys of the holiday-makers who indulge, without restraint, in idleness, sports or festive events. The 293 rooms of Les Boucaniers are housed in bungalows scattered on both sides of the main restaurant. Just north of the area you will find an a la carte restaurant with a dance floor. The village also has 2 bars, including one where you will literally have your "feet in the water".
The 293 rooms, including 44 suites (11 categories), are all very pleasant, decorated in warm colours. All rooms have a king-size bed, flat screen television with satellite (10 channels), direct dial telephone for international calls, air conditioning, a safe, a mini-bar filled with soda bottles, a clock radio, a kit for tea and coffee, an ironing board and an iron. Some rooms are equipped with a small living room. The bathrooms feature a large tiled shower in orange and green, a double sink, and a hair dryer. The toilets are separate.
"Le Pays Mêlé", the main restaurant, is one of the highlights at the Club. Located near the beach, it has at least 197 feet of buffets, all loaded down with a wide variety of delicacies (Creole and international cuisine) and hot dishes. For a more cosy atmosphere, go to La Belle Creole restaurant (buffet is served at lunchtime and in the evening, with a reservation, you can order from a menu).
It is generally accepted that the beach at the Club Med - an extension of the beach of Sainte-Anne - is one of the most beautiful in Martinique, along with the beach of Anse Michel in Cap Chevalier. Crystal clear water, fine sand, beautiful proportions, favourable microclimate and complete facilities (diving club, catamaran, a large pier) make it a real seaside paradise.
