International StandardThe Hilton hotel is an unsurprising hotel meeting international standards. You will probably be surprised by its architecture, but once you are inside, you will forget that this is a large capacity hotel.
This hotel review is a translation from the French published on our French site Easyvoyage.com.
The Hilton hotel is located a little distant from the other hotels. It is located in north Tel Aviv, towards the docks. It borders the promenade on the verge of the sea. Downtown Tel Aviv is at a 15 minutes walk and the airport is at a 30 minute drive. The old city of Jaffa is located further south, at a 30 minute walk.
The Hilton hotel is the biggest hotel in Tel Aviv.
The Hilton is a 17-level building, the biggest hotel in the city. Built in 1965, it was renovated in 1999. Its massive architecture is neither charming nor refined. However, once you are inside the building, you will definitely be surprised by the peaceful and pleasant atmosphere that reigns here. The spacious lobby welcomes the clients in a warm ambience, with warm colours like orange, yellow and beige. A lobby bar offers cocktails and snacks all day. And in the evening, it becomes a piano bar offering a sea view. The ambience is subdued and the decor is elegant but unattractive. Wood is everywhere. A sushi bar located nearby and decorated with hardwood floors and dark wooden furniture offers all sorts of sushi. A salt water pool is provided. For relaxation, there is a spa offering massages, treatments, sauna... There is a well equipped business centre with telephones for rent, fax, Internet, conference rooms. A business lounge is reserved for clients housed in business levels and an Executive lounge is open for those housed on the executive floors. A buffet, a TV, beverages, and newspapers are also available. The view here of the sea and the beach is magnificient.
The hotel offers 583 rooms spread out on 17 levels. An entire level is reserved for the executive rooms and another one for the business rooms. The rooms are spacious and decorated with a taste. Good quality furniture, some pictures on the walls and a few small details decorate the room. Beige and warm colours( yellow, orange) are predominant. All rooms offer TV, a telephone, air-conditioning, facilities for tea and coffee, a mini bar, a safe, Internet and a video game console. Slippers are placed in the room. Suites are composed of a living-room and a room and larger balconies. Bathrooms offer a bathtub, welcome products, a hair-dryer, bathrobes, a weight-scale and a telephone. The rooms on the 17th floor do not have balconies.
Breakfast is served at Cafe Mediterranean. It is served buffet-style in a dining-room overlooking the pool and the sea. Food is international and Israeli. Lots of bay windows light up the room. In the evening, you can try King Solomon's meats, open for dinner only. You can always find something to eat at the lobby bar and at the sushi bar. The pool bar open in summer time also offers grills, kebab, hamburgers...
