The Framissima Melia Torremolinos is one of the rare French-speaking holiday clubs and one of the best establishments in the area. A very functional address where we appreciated the warm welcome and the comfort of the rooms.
The Framissima Melia Torremolinos is located in the west side of the town (Montemar neighbourhood), on the edge of the main road, 1 mile from the lively town centre. Depending on the traffic, you will spend between 15 and 30 minutes driving from the airport (5 miles).
A professional animation team (up to 9 people in high season) will make your days and nights happier. Program: sports, games, trips, rides and gym. Every evening a show in French is held in the function room, fitted out with a café-theater, it's up to you, Spanish evenings, night clubs, or dancing. Kids aged 5 to 9 years will be welcomed during school breaks in the mini-club.
Built in 1962 and renovated in 2002 (50% of the hotel), the Framissima Melia Torremolinos hotel niches in an imposing 7-storey building, forming an ''L''. Like all the common parts, the lobby is large with no real style but well decorated with a few plants. It is prolonged by a large room with patio (open in summer time) where the bar is located. Outside, you will find nice small gardens, embellished by ficuses, cypress, pines and pergola, surrounding a large 3,230-feet˛ pool and a kids pool. For your convenience, you will be offered beach chairs. Sport lovers will find a multi-sport field nearby where you can play tennis or volleyball (and secondarily for basketball and handball). The garden also covers a rifle range, a playground for children, a petanque area and a shuffle-board area (puck).
The 283 double rooms are nice, spacious, well equipped and quite bad soundproofed. We should mention that the surroundings are noisy! The old carpets have been replaced by a beautiful beige tiled floor. The decoration is sober (light furniture and white bedding) but efficient with paintings on the walls (Miro and Picasso) and a large mirror above the bed. All offer a living-room area, individual air-conditioning, satellite TV, a filled mini-bar, a safe (paying) and a radio.
Well conceived, the bathrooms covered by marble offer  double washbasins with a hair-dryer, bathtub, toilets and enough well presented welcome products.
All the rooms offer a small balcony with unequal views: some of them overlook the sea, others the pool, others offer a view of the road. For more tranquility, ask for the rooms facing the coast, for the same price! Room-service from 7h30 AM to 1 o'clock in the morning.
The only restaurant of the Framissima can welcome up to 300 guests (360 when both rooms are open) with a space for smokers. The main dining room is large and rectangular, bordered on one side by large bay-windows overlooking the pool. Lots of small round tables are disposed close to one another. Don't expect to eat in a muffled ambience, bu rather in a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant is open for the three meals with a buffet service. Breakfast is very delicious and offers a various selection. A nice buffet with gambas, fish and meats in a show-cooking space for the grills. The thematic evenings (Andalousian, Italian, Marocan) that runs two times a week (on Tuesdays and Thursdays) are very nice
You will access Montemar public beach (1,312 feet) through a small slight sloping street next to the hotel. You can enjoy all the activities and facilities offered by different beach attendants: windsurfing, water-skiing, pedalo, upward parachuting, banana or ringo (for a fee). You will also find beach chairs and mattresses for a charge of about 15 &euros per day (12 pounds). Showers are available all along the beach. The beach is like all the beaches we know in Costa del Sol: charmless, and very crowded in high season. The sand is grey and it mixes up with the gravels and the seashells on the verge of the sea. When the wind blows strongly, water sports lovers will enjoy the big waves that crush on the beach. No danger: the streams are usually low and the beach is supervised.
